My friend, you’ve done enough embarrassing yourself for a lifetime.

Hopefully you bring more substance to your Facebook group, because it’s certainly lacking here.

Please avoid responding to insults/baiting. Let's make this thread less hostile. -b

He’s gone.

Push comes to shove, if he gets the supermax, I’d be absolutely floored if he doesn’t take it.

That just buys you time with him, but any time left with Jaylen under contract vs a flight risk with one year left is good

Athletes are like politicians.

Frequently, what comes out of their mouths is a whole lot of BS (see Brown's pal Kyrie as a prima facie example).
So Jaylen may indeed be sincere about his place in the Celtics milieu,
or he is just engaging in CYA, because his previous comments caused a bit of an uproar.

I'm not really sure, because why go out of your way, to essentially make it known to the New York Times
of all people (all the news that's fit to print, even if Walter Duranty is the source) that you are having
issues in Boston?

Nah, you don't get your story out to the Times, unless you have a strong purpose in making certain points known
or getting ahead of an issue that's about to drop on the general public.

Whatever the case, I am intrigued by Houston's young talent (most of which is in the wrong situation for them -
they'd be much better off in a structured Boston offense and defense) and could see the possibility of a
Brown - Rockers trade paying off bigly for the Celtics a few years down the line, with plenty of possible
growth and usage next season. And whatever Draft Picks they got out of such a deal could be packaged (with their own) for
another Star.

So, plenty of flexibility there...

Celtics’ Jaylen Brown sounds committed to Jayson Tatum pairing: ‘We’re part of each other’s destiny’

“I think we both love this game tremendously and want to continue to improve,” Brown said. “We compete, we push each other, learn from each other, and I think a lot of our relationship has been built off of that dynamic of respect. And that’s the beautiful part of it.

“I get to see him come into work every single day and see him prepare for winning. I’ve seen him get better every single year. I’ve seen him grow as a man. He’s seen me grow as a man. I get why, I guess in a sense, people always try to break up duos or people like that, because so far, we’ve been incredibly successful, and hopefully, we can be even more; (the) only thing that would put the ribbon on top is getting a championship.”

“There is a phrase that I say, ‘Want for your brother what you want for yourself,’ Brown said. “That’s the only way I understand how to operate, want for people around me what I want for myself…by Jayson being the ultimate version of him doesn’t stop me from being the ultimate version of myself.

“At this point, we’re a part of each other. At this point, we’re part of each other’s destiny.”

I think the Knicks make the most sense as a potential threatening landing spot. The Leon Rose angle and the rest of the front office there, putting player-first types (etc) into the front office.

Quickley, Barrett and a bunch of picks isn't super exciting - I'd flip Barrett into DeRozan and then there is a balance of the win-now and also some more young depth for the future. If push came to shove that is. But I see NY as a much more likely threat than ATL, HOU, etc.

Being part of someone’s destiny doesn’t equal = I’m staying here lol. If he left he’d still be a part of Tatum’s story legacy and destiny and vice versa. I still am not convinced Jaylen leaves and I’ve said as much recently but I’m also not convinced that he’ll just stay for the money- although it makes things wayyy more likely.

I also think it’s funny that the media narrative is now “he’s been involved in trade rumors” when most of the trade rumors prior to KD were literally driven by the media or fans. The Celtics didn’t go after kawhi as hard as they could because he was a flight risk- the spurs wanted brown but it’s never been said we ever actually offered brown and had he been offered that deal is likely done.

We gonna criticize the Celtics because they floated his name at the draft or before it for Jimmy butler when Jaylen hadn’t played a game yet? Even though we ultimately passed on the deal? And passed on Jimmy again? We never could trade for AD because of the rose rule in 2019 and we had the most assets in the league so of course the media would link us to him given ainge wanted him for years but again we couldn’t trade for him then so it was mostly bs at that time.

Durant was real. I believe he was offered for KD. The reality for Jaylen is that there’s like 6 guys in the league (and that’s being generous even maybe ) who are untradeable and he’s not one of them. There’s plenty deals you don’t do but that doesn’t mean he’s untradeable.

The Celtics had also been close but couldn’t get over the ECF hump for awhile and appeared before Tatum’s emergence to be a piece away which always made brown the logical piece to dangle. If that’s gonna be used as the excuse to leave if he did- so be it but it’s pretty silly and not entirely factual but I guess when you want out you look for reasons to leave and not stay.

He’ll just change his name again so that nobody can trace these terrible takes back to him.

Celtics never wanted to deal Brown.
Brown will make all-NBA.
Brown will sign a long term deal in Boston.
Brown and Tatum and co. will continue to chase history.
This noise will go away.
None of the naysayers will ever admit how wrong they were.

"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."
