If you watched the two games Harden dropped 40+ vs Celtics, It's nothing to do with Embiid drawing away defenders, it's about Harden getting enough touches and confidence himself. Harden on a lottery team with enough touches can still give you 25 + 10.
I think Maxey benefits a lot with the attention Embiid/Harden draw. It would be interesting to see what he can do if he's the alpha..
This is true, but if we give Harden the keys can he keep the same level in the playoffs against great defenses? I think not. So it would be fools gold.
That's why I'd be ok moving on and handing the keys to Maxey. He's not ready yet but having him shoulder the load will accelerate his development. And if we're fortunate he takes a big jump next year ala Brunson and Shai this season.
