The CDR thread would be a good bump. So much optimism.

Remember that game CDR scored like 30 vs the Heat and Lebron was dapping him up after the game and we were all worried the Heat were gonna try poach him? Good times.

Lol, I think this is it: https://www.espn.com/nba/boxscore/_/gameId/310107015

I'm looking at that 2010-11 roster and convincing myself we could be a play-in team today at least. That team couldn't score for shish, though.

I liked that thread too. The optimist take was, "well, per 36 minutes he averages like 20 rebounds a game!"

If Drew Gooden gets 4 assists we win.

Are we gonna ignore Bucks legend Bogues' 12/27/3/3/2 game on 4-17 shooting? The quintessential Bogues experience.

Ah yes, the 2008 and 2011 Bucks. AKA the two Bucks teams that nearly broke me as a fan. Forcing myself to get excited about Yi/Potsie/Charlie V. and Maggette/CDR/Gooden was a special kind of torture.

remember when is the lowest form of conversation :P

Nets want two FRP for Finney Smith so probably out there, they even want a protected FRP for Royce O'Neale. Maybe Royce could be had for the Portland 2nd? Not sure he's way better than what we have right now.

Classic "We want two firsts for our 30-year old role-player" rumor mill content drivel. Why people keep falling for stuff like that is beyond me. They'll eventually settle for one heavily protected first and salary filler, because that's what always happens.

Just my opinion, but I think your crusade against Caruso is weird. He's by all accounts an all-world defender, and he's a good enough shooter that you have to account for him outside.

I don't know what about that doesn't scream huge value.

I was talking about DFS (whom I like) but the same applies to Caruso. People always bring up that one time Portland forked over two first round picks for Robert Covington as some sort of benchmark trade value for starting caliber 3&D wings rather than what it actually was, i.e. a massive overpay. You hear a variation of that same headline every year with insert player X. It's just nonsense asset posturing.

So you think Caruso goes for a heavily protected first and filler? Don't you think if that's what the price tag is he'd be gone already?

I have no idea how their front office values him. If they already turned down an offer of a lottery-protected first, then I think they're dumb as hell.

DFS is an empty stay guy without the stats. He hasn't been the same since he got this contract, he's lost athletism. We'd be awesome if we landed an athletic combo forward, but he's not the one.

I have very few ideas of who it is, though, apart from speculative guys to roll the dice on, which we don't really have space for, either on the roster or operationally. I'd be all over Otto Porter if he wasn't one of the more injury prone guys to ever lace them up. But so would everybody else.

Kenrich Williams? Good player, certified dawg, but is he gettable and would his lack of shooting be a problem?

Cody Martin would be an interesting get if our staff is comfortable with his medicals. No idea what they look like apart from not playing since last January.

2 1sts for Dorian Finney-Smith is absolute **** crazy. Hard, fully erect pass on that. Wild stuff.
