TBH I think I prefer his Magic team over one with Paul George, unless he had some other tricks up his sleeve with the Pacers/Clippers.

To me the Clippers always felt like a first round team. I always figured the Pacers were a strong possibility for me in round 2- they are a very good team”secondary” team in this setup.

Wasn't expecting you to pick both the Clips and the Pacers cause they both give you access to George. When Fade's turn passed, I thought I was safe. Turns out you didn't care for George at all.

PG: Billups (36) / Hill (12)
SG: Reggie (36) / Hill (12)
SF: George (24) / KCP (24)
PF: Aaron Gordon (36) / George (12)
C: Jokic (36) / cheap big up to 4.4 FGA. Jeff Foster is a good shout. I was considering Sam Perkins.

Had I known I'd miss out on the Pacers, I would have gone a completely different route in round 1.

It’s not that I didn’t care for George- he’s one of my faves in this game. I wanted CP/Kawhi (a better combo than Kawhi/PG) and you can’t take George alongside that pair. And the CP/Reggie fit in the backcourt speaks for itself.

George’s one All-NBA First nod hurts his value in this specific game.

I was entertaining a Denver/Indy combo before you took Denver. It had pretty much the exact team you posted here. Would have been great offensively but the backcourt defense is a little weak with Reggie and older Chauncey.

I like your team with TMAC quite a bit. The offense is a tad more top heavy but it’s better defensively than what you’d have gotten with Indy or (I’m guessing) LA.

Just curious- what would a Clipper team have looked like?

My guess is all the teams will be quite good here. But I admit to some surprise that some deep first round teams are in position to add prime Lebron in the second round.

I thought about taking him off the board, even if not taking him for myself

I was between CP3, Dwight, and a couple others for my Cat 2 player. Still feeling a little uneasy, but love the CP3 fit with the Minny boys

The Cavs are a very annoying franchise in terms of supporting pieces.

We might see several versions of CP3 in this. I consider him for OKC as well but unsure yet.

Maybe yeah. I feel like there are some solid dudes there, but I didn't try that hard to put an actual team together with them.

Four of the five top options I left to Laimbeer yesterday are still available. Now I need to decide which route I really want to go. If someone wants to help in PM, I'd be glad for any consolation.

The Pels interested me because of both CP and AD but I just didn't like the spread of role players they had avaiable.

This draft broadly didn't go the way I expected. I assumed that both the Clippers and another team that STILL hasn't been picked to be unavailable at my spot, and I expected a two of three teams that were picked ahead of me to be available at my pick.

Still happy with the overall result though.

It also really underscores how poor the fit between the two franchises I had in the last game was. Both had underwhelming role players and it made team building with them a chore.

Neither of the teams I ended up with in that game were picked in round 1.

The freefall after makes sense but I'm shocked a few teams made it past the turn.
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

Came this close to taking the Nets, ultimately was scared people would ding me for Kidd-Ant-Jimmy all next to each other

Notice all - clock will start tomorrow 9am EDT and not before that! (sometimes people assume the clock starts at the end of round one without anybody mentioning it explicitly)

Also I set the time window for a pick to 3 hours since this is only a two round draft plus the picks here may take some planning because you're basically preparing half of your team. Also, the clock stops at 11:00 p.m. You are of course encouraged to pick as soon as you can rather than using all your clock, when possible.

Please complete your picks and roster pages by 4pm EDT tomorrow

Lebron with the thunder core is pretty nice

well I am pleased.

Got Giannis with, imo, an upgraded Bucks core around him.

Chris Paul
Ray Allen
Mikal Bridges
Giannis
Brook

That should fit really well with very good defense and spacing around Giannis

I had the Bucks going before me and almost took them with the Pacers (sorry Flaco, there probably wasn't a scenario where you got the Pacers).

Jrue/Reggie/PG13/Giannis/Turner. Ultimately liked CP/Kawhi/Brand more than Jrue/PG/Giannis- it felt a bit stronger both in fit and firepower. I think the CP pick and roll with Brand, Kawhi as an iso-option, and Reggie coming off screens is the best I could have done.

This is definitely one of those where just about everybody is going to be happy with their team, though.

I didn't want to go Lebron again after being forced into it in the last game. Outside of Lebron the Cavs are just a really tough team to build with. I could have done it with the Pacers as PG and Reggie are great fits, but who's the point guard?

I could have done it with the Clippers but who's the viable 5th non-all star starter? Lebron fell because the fit wasn't right for any of the lower picks.

I got more or less what I expected. Lakers give me a bunch of options for the second team, but I'm gonna try to do something fun here.
