Both brought energy. Zacch crashed the boards but the 3 didn't fall.

There is something to this, for sure.

Theory:

Any offense first guard with bad defensive tendencies can play alongside Dyson/NAW/Jalen/OO and be successful.

Trae and Vit were simply getting reps with that lineup before they had fully coalesced, and thus, they each had terrible NET Ratings where CJ McCollum has benefitted from playing alongside those four.

Hawks keeping Risacher in the starting lineup for a year and a half of mediocre basketball is one of the absolute worst decisions the franchise could have made.

He held the team back as a rookie and a sophomore.

I maintain that the Hawks success with their starting 5 post-Trae trade is an illusion reinforced against sub par competition.

The Atlanta Hawks’ starting five, which had the second-best plus-minus of any five-man unit in the NBA during the regular season, entered the work week with the worst plus-minus of any five-man unit in the 2026 NBA playoffs.

Still a very young team but definately upcoming. Still need to add talent and the resources are there to make it happen. This season has been great and looks like a lot better to come

I'm not seeing Mo improving. I like his energy at times but as a young talent he needs to show more. He needs to produce.

Hard truth that I know you don't want to admit:

Risacher, Dyson and Mo Gueye are all defensive specialists who benefitted offensively from the attention Trae Young pulled and from TY's elite passing when they were left unguarded.

In #11's absence, these players in particular have each stalled out on offense.

But we are relying on CJ Gabe, NAW and Kispert...meanwhile Zacc, Asa, Mo see limited minutes.

We are a less talented team today than we were back in October.

Just like last season, playing Minivan, Mann and Levert. SMDH....and yes, less talented.
Quin's 5 out system with non reliable 3pt shooters, multiple ball handlers that can not pass out of a double team or run a half court offense is in a word: PROBLEMATIC!

Let's hope we answer this issue in the draft with our pick.
