I don't think merely making the conference finals makes a team a contender if they never really had a chance to either a) leave the conference finals or b) actually win in the Finals.

But fair enough, the 99 team was never getting anywhere near the Finals to even ask the question, and that was a large difference between the two, indeed.

I hear you. In that case it’s cool to go thick on the beard to even out your face. I wouldn’t mind being bald at all if my beard fully connected, which it doesn’t :(

I would be a bigger fan if I didn't have "day walker" skin tone. But what can you do. Just gotta accept it. You get more respect with the grey anyway, they assume you might know something.

 true! Silly them!

I thought I heard something about what Kuminga decides will affect Horford's contract. Now that Kuminga signed his deal, how will this (if at all) affect Horford's contract? Or does this not have any impact on what Horford signed for?

No impact. Horford was always going to get the TPMLE.

As of now, it seems like the only impact of Kuminga's deal will be Seth Curry having to sign a training camp deal for now, get waived, then sign with the team on November 15th. If JKs deal was a bit smaller, he could just sign now as the 15th full roster spot.

So overall, no real impact other than a couple weeks where Seth gets to play golf instead of going to practice or games.

GSW might have the first lineup to win an NBA Title and the Big 3 Title in the same year...

tsherkin wrote:So, first and obviously, Al has been an awesome player. Dunno how much he'll have left in year 19, but he rebounds and passes well, has a 3, hits his FTs and just plays the game the right way. Smart dude, makes hustle plays and all that. Excellent addition whenever he'll be on the court. I worry a little about his health. He hasn't played 70 games since 2018 and he's missed 19, 17 and 22 games the past 3 seasons, two of which were under 30 mpg. So availability is at least something of an issue. And Butler is also going to have major availability issues.

It'll be faintly miraculous if they put together a healthy postseason run, though if they do, it would be outstanding. But Steph's older, has his own health issues and other struggles. This should be a fun team, just probably not a real contender unless the stars align in a very particular manner.

Awesome signing, though. Even at 60 games, he's about as good as you're going to get to fill that kind of role. If you going in expecting like 9/8 from him on quality percentages, then that's probably a good bet. Excellent connecting player, and sort of the archetype for the good vet big.

You are all being way too kind to my Warriors. Father time undefeated. Take the under on the win total.

I think we have a fairly similar opinion on their prospects, to be honest.

For those who said Horford is cooked, people been saying that for a few years now, and had you seen him play last year? VS the Lakers Luka was trying to hunt him and he locked him up. The man can still play, and is still an impactful 16 game player. Just need to manage his minutes.

A 16-game player? Are you sure you didn't mean Embiid?

And yeah, Horford is cooked; the entire GSW roster is cooked.

This is what their practices must look like. Father time is undefeated

I would make a joke about the team needing to stock up on Depends undergarments - but Jimmy Butler has been crapping his pants during games for years now. :D
