Bub might be the 2024 rookie most likely to be traded, if any are.DukeLecker wrote:Hope this is a sign of things to come from Sarr. He looks amazing on both sides.
Bub ain’t a lead guard. Can’t bend the defense. Too hard to get in sets with him as PG.
Tre looks small and just average athletically.
George great on defense. Total zero on offense.
This team be terrible. No concerns about being one of the very worst teams. Small and can’t rebound and no strong ball handlers. Will be a lot of turnovers.

Toronto is a high ball pressure team. I don't think they will have to deal with this type of pressure all the time.
I agree with you that Bub looks more like a 3rd guard/combo guard than a pure PG. But let's not forget that he just turned 20 in July. His ball handling will get better.

Kyshawn George is an ideal sixth man or defensive stopper. Michael Cooper would like Kyshawn's game.nate33 wrote:Kyshawn can't hit anything tonight, but I love that he is not afraid. That guy BELIEVES he belongs on the floor. Heck, he probably thinks he's the best player on the floor.

There aren't any other PG's on the roster, except Sharife Cooper I guess.
Sharife is a better playmaker.
Tre underwhelmed. I didn't see him create a shot. Bub didn't do him any favors by running offense and distributing the ball well. I missed parts.
Riley stood out.
Johnson can shoot. Watkins looks like a starter. Riley is going to be really good.

What I was saying about Willie Riley. I think he’s a supersized point guard. Looking like Shaun Livingston.

Cam got to give you more outside of scoring. He didn't get one rebound. Tre has 7...
I was surprised to see him give-up wide-open looks to instead try to drive to the basket, don’t
Know his game….

Cam has a rep as a black hole with dubious shot selection.

Re: GT Wiz vs Raps, the TreJ era begins
Overall, I’m pretty satisfied.
Key takeaways:
1. I’m not sure who on the board was dogging Kyshawn. He’s our best player and it’s not even close. Love the kid. His shots weren’t falling but he did everything else brilliantly. His on ball defense makes Bilal look like Jordan Poole.
2. Couldn’t be happier with the leap that Sarr has taken.
3. Both vets are really good, esp McCollum. They’ll need to be gone mid year to keep the tank alive.
4. Winger and Dawkins have given Keefe a great roster to tank with. If we are ahead or in danger of winning, just put in any combination of players that includes Kispert and Vuc. A five point deficit is guaranteed to balloon to 15 within a few possessions and to the naked eye it won’t look like tanking. Corey is truly the tank commander.
5. Tre will be ok, but he has a long way to go. Needs to get stronger, improve his movement and get used to the speed of the game. No way will he be Rookie of the Year. Sorry AFM.
6. We have some intriguing dawgs at the end of the bench. Dillon Jones really surprised me. Watkins needs to get some minutes. Branham might be useful in spots.
7. With Bilal, we’ll be able to throw out some lineups that will absolutely stifle opponents. At least until it’s time to grab a rebound. I could see a George, Bilal, Jones, Watkins, Sarr lineup in spells.

Bub looks worse than he did a year ago. He's slower. Going form 19 to 20, he should be improving physically. Kyshawn is making that leap. But Bub is going the other way. Too much weightlifting? Not sure why. But he looks worse.

He keeps cutting off Toronto's path to the basket and forcing them to kick it out. His positioning has been superb. Reminds a little of Nene in that he is always taking the right angle.
He looks improved on offense too, but still a little shaky finishing with force. I'll take it.
Roger all of this.
If he were finishing with force already, he would be on a Jaren Jackson, Kevin Garnett, Giannis Antetekuompo trajectory.
I think realistically that Alex is Pervis Ellison with handles and three-point range. That's a good player.
Please O Powers That Be, he means a healthy Pervis Ellison with handles and three-point range.

Just had guest leave, didn't see a minute. Heard about most of our key guys but can someone let me know a bit more about how Tre Johnson did?

I wasn't able to watch (eff U monumental) but was
wondering why AJJ didn't play as far as I could tell.
If they play close in a lot of games this year, but ultimately lose, that might work out assuming we get
even minimal ie top 4, lottery luck.
Ky seemed good.
I did get to watch a long highlight reel after the game was over
PS edit to add really encouraged by the reviews on Sarr.
Not worried too much about Bub. Yet. It's too early.

AJ has been limited in training camp due to a leg bruise- perhaps the reason why he didn't play tonight.

Right. Looks to me like Bub is adjusting to his added size and recalibrating his jumper etc based on new height, muscle, etc. I think he’ll be fine once he adjusts.
