For those of you old enough to remember I was a huge fan while y'all had Sheed and your team will always have a soft spot in my heart for that 00s run. I couldn't be happier for y'all to be relevant again!

I'm just waiting for Duren to make all-NBA, so vege has to finally give the young man some props.

It’s not vege you’re talking about. At least not this year.

Last year in the playoffs, he was pretty critical, even as Duren was having double doubles as a 21 year old in his first playoffs.

But if he's seen the light, that's good with me. I have believed in Duren for years (when he was the #1 HS recruit). I still think his best years are to come.

Jerami Grant for Jalen Duren was highway robbery.

I mean, he wasn’t that good in playoffs last year, especially defensively. We had to put Tobias on KAT because JD was getting roasted.

His defensive improvement is the most encouraging thing he’s done this year, even if he still has trouble with stretch bigs. Offensive development is nice, too, but if Detroit had to pick one or the other, the defense matters way more.

I think Duran right now reminds more of Karl Malone just overpowering everyone to the basket and making free throws, I think Malone shot like 90% though from the line.

Duran is playing great but he's got a long way to go before he's comparable to Malone. KM had a smooth fade away jumper from 10-12 ft that was unstoppable. He also was a better defender and defensive rebounder.

Wild to think that Malone entered his rookie year when he was 22, the same age Duren is now. I agree with you though and expect Duren to cool off but there's a chance he doesn't and just keeps getting better and better. :o

Malone at 22: 30.6mpg, 14.9ppg, 8.9rpg, 2.9apg, 1.3spg, 0.5bpg, 49.6% FG, 48.1% FT, 3.4TPG

Duren at 22: 28.8mpg, 20.5ppg, 11.5rpg, 2.1apg, 1.0spg, 1.0bpg, 67.5% FG, 76.7% FT, 2.4TPG
