Melo and Lala Seperated (Update: Getting A Divorce)

Coming from someone who has gone to counseling and can vouch for its benefits, I suggest that Melo needs to talk to someone and start digging deeper into himself and his surrounding life from a psychological perspective. Of course everyone's circumstances are different, but Melo and me are about a year apart, so I'd say we are a part of the same generation, and I feel that on such an extent I can possibly relate to him. Maybe Melo has already talked to someone or a few people, but he has been hard to reach.

I started sensing that there may have been conflict within Melo and Lala's marriage when Lala started filiming what would be considered by some people as softcore porn. I have a hard time believing that Lala truly needed to do that scene to advance her career, or believing that such a scene would really fulfill her on a creative and artistic level as an actress. Then again, I am not in the film industry, so I'm only familiar with it as an outsider looking in.

What Melo is going through as a Knick to me kind of resembles where Marbury was in his career and personal life around 2007. The difference is that where Marbury might be more the type to let all of his emotions seep out of him, Melo may be the type who is accustomed to internalizing everything while managing to keep his chin up. Nevertheless, years of losing seasons and dysfunction while playing as a Knick completely demoralized and broke down Marbury, and unfortunately it seems to have done the same to Melo.

Where do I see this with Melo? I see it in his motivation to play in the Olympics for a 4th time just so he could know what it feels like to win again. I see it in his willingness to play hurt throughout a season up until he gets selected to an Allstar game since he senses that there will be nothing else to look forward to towards the 2nd half of the season once the Knicks have been scouted by other teams and the Knicks are unable to make adjustments. I see it in his indifference to the madness surrounding him, where he has become so desensitized and defeated, he just "shows up". I see it in his lack of reaction towards friends, family, and colleagues who have time and time again urged him for years to pursue a trade and save his career, yet Melo is content with staying where he is at, which dumbfounds everyone who tries talking to him.

It's just a theory from my end, and I could be exagerating, but Melo may be really depressed.




To end my thoughts, this is an online message board and both Melo and Lala are public figures. I understand why some people would have reservations about commenting on other people's marriages and families. Me personally, I use this as an opportunity to try to learn why and how people act the way they do, and I'm sure others here do so as well.

I hope that Melo and Lala are able to reach a resolution that can put their family (especially their son), and each of them as individuals, in an upward direction going forward.

Blaming Phil and didn't even come up with the obvious scenario of melo possibly cheating or blaming lala, melo is a bum off the court and on. Wouldn't be surprised. He's spoken about not really feeling the passion with the game the way he used to. I also wouldn't be surprised to see him just crush it next year if he finds himself in the right situation.

Wouldn't be surprised. He's spoken about not really feeling the passion with the game the way he used to. I also wouldn't be surprised to see him just crush it next year if he finds himself in the right situation.

The biggest reason why he needs a change or scenery and perspective. Consistently losing and losing and losing can just break your spirit.

Just go somewhere and focus on winning and letting everything else work itself out.

I guarantee you if this dude makes the playoffs next year he's scoring 50 during game 1.

The thing is with all that's come out I'm not understand why she's just settling for separation and not just divorcing him.

Maybe she's taking some time but still it's not adding up.
