“While the belief has been that the Charlotte Hornets prefer Brandon Miller, it's sounding more like just a rumor that's snowballed. No NBA sources have any legitimate explanation or substance behind the assumption.”

Hornets are tight lipped so doesn’t shock me.
Also saw Haynes confirmed Scoot was going to meet with MJ Monday.

Haven’t seen anything for Miller yet. He is working out for Portland today tho.

I also wonder if Scoot, like Bryce Young, were 6'4" if there would even be a discussion.

Fischer reported that Scoot measured 6'4 in shoes. The 6'2 figure posted everywhere is clearly his barefoot height.

The reason I don't have any hesitation about adding Scoot is I believe he also has elite size for a PG. Taking into account strength and leaping ability he plays more like a 6'5'' or 6'6'' guy, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if his actual height was 6'4''.

Take a look at this video and pause it around the .30 mark

Scoot is standing between Bones Hyland, guy that measured 6'2'' barefoot at the combine and plays at 6'3.5'' in shoes, and Ayo Dosunmu, who measured 6'3.5'' barefoot. On the other side of Bones Hyland is Jonathan Kuminga. The camera is not exactly level here, but just looking at the total picture of Scoot between Lamelo and Kuminga, Scoot's size looks elite for a PG to me.

There is a reason nba went to height barefoot.
I was expecting 6-2 to be his height without shoes.
If that was his height with shoes he would have been 6 foot tall, because shoes give you 2 inches. That would be tiny.

https://www.nba.com/stats/draft/combine-anthro?dir=D&sort=HEIGHT_WO_SHOES

6-2 barefoot still makes him 5th smallest player measured at combine

Seems like it’s been what many of us have thought. A bunch of smoke in the air. It’s clear Scoot is the #2 player in this draft

I know everyone has who they prefer, but its not crystal clear at all.

You're probably right the draft is definitely a crap shoot, but when I watch Scoot, I just see superstardom. The skill and athleticism mixed with his mentality, work ethic, and maturity he has from being a pro the last 2 years just seems like a no brainer. I don't get paid to evaluate so it's just my opination.

Only 9 other guys at the Combine were listed at PG though.

You also forgot Miller is also meeting with MJ on Monday and Woj said yesterday we are taking Brandon Miller.

But if his 6'9 wingspan is true then his length and height would put him on par or above size wise with Dort, Donovan Mitchell and Brunson. This years group was pretty big overall due to the few traditional PG prospects in this draft.

Man that list scares me some for Smith from NCSU because he was shorter and not as long as I thought he was. I fell like he could be a microwave scorer off the bench maybe for a second round pick.

Looking back it appears Avery Bradley is about as close a size comp as I can find.

Probably Scoot because his shooting won’t be good enough to space the floor. Spacing will already be bad enough with 3 bad-below average outside shooters on the court in Bridges, Scoot and Mark.

See how long LaMelo is happy with playing off ball and having to guard shooting guards. Especially if we aren’t good, the “you have to trade one of them” crowd will be pounding the table.

But you could argue Scoot could play sg because of his strength and explosiveness. Maybe use him like Dmitch or Wade.

Either way it will be interesting to see how they play together.

Just got done watching the “Air” movie (ironically on the day Jordan sells) and there’s a scene in a 7-11 where it’s right after the Jordan draft and Sonny asks the blazers fan about Jordan vs Bowie. His response is all in favor of Bowie because he’s a tall wing and you can’t pick a guard over that. He goes on to explain how 18 year old Jordan only scored 17ppg in college which is like 10ppg in the NBA. This sounds like the exact argument the pro Miller people make over Scoot.

I’m completely sold on Scoot. I think we NEED to draft him to set this organization up for perennial success. We draft Miller and it could be like what the Blazers did back in the 80’s.

yea lets draft Miller instead, maybe him, Bouknight and Bridges can be homies and hit the town together!

I have to say kudos for that high level confirmation bias

I’m just saying. I’ve been team Scoot from the get go but then you pick up on these little historically parallels and it just adds even more confidence to that stance, for me at least. I’m no scout, but what Scoot seems to have is rare. Miller will be good but Scoot will be great.

Miller is nothing like Bowie and Scoot is nothing like MJ. You're seeing what you want to see.

I think this is the most intense debate we've had with NBA draft prospects since the Bobcats came back into the league.

There's not much more to say, both prospects have their pros and cons, hopefully we will get a star with either.

Ready for the draft, its going to be a long week.

Really would rather not trade the pick for Ingram

Yeah, cause there are only two options so it's easy to take sides and people are getting stir crazy at this point. I remember 2012 was nothing like this.

It’s still more Rose lite and Beasley lite to me.
