With how good Smith Jr. and D.Mitchell (and I'm sure Monk soon) look you don't want New York turning on him during the inevitable growing pains. He's a kid from a different world and in this environment it isn't far fetched to think it could wreck his confidence and derail him. We don't exactly have a nurturing culture here from the fans or the media. Our locker room is suspect too.

What's wrong with Frank being a backup that gets 20-25 minutes a night as an 19 year old in the NBA? I honestly don't see any problem with that - in fact it seems almost ideal.

Ideal? 20 minutes a game? Ideal is him being the starting point guard and dominating. I disagree 100%. Eric Bledsoe is a win now type player on a rebuilding team. He already has chronic injuries and will likely go down for long stretches in the season. The Knicks would then be forced to play Frank major minutes anyway. The point of a veteran point guard isn't to block Frank's path to get more minutes. It's to be a placeholder until Frank forces his way into the starting lineup at some point in the season. He won't do that with Eric Bledsoe here.

If Frank is Kobe, Eric would be Eddie Jones.
And if so, I'll take it.

I still think Brandon Knight has potential, but if you get him he won't have Frank's best interest in mind. He'd be another project for Hornacek and co.

Y'all niccas always crying. People saying Bledsoe hurts the tank in one breath, then complaining he is injury prone in the next. I hate you all!

You big dummies, if he is injury-prone doesn't that HELP the tank AND open the door for Frank to get some starts?

Damn this...if we end up getting contracts longer than Melo's and non-tradeable assets then much better that we lose Melo with the ETO or just ride out the 2 years.

No it doesn't. He serves no purpose when he's injured, and he hurts the tank when he's not.

Yep, we can't be too picky here. If Bledsoe comes in and bides us some time to develop Frank and serves as a good role model on and off the court, then I'm good with it. But we still want to see those draft picks before we sign off.

Ain't none of us sports execs, I don't think....but really...what takes so long to make a deal??
GM's sending calls to voice mail?
Isn't this what they get paid for?
And then in the process they're calling or texting sources saying "it's nearly done"?
I actually think this is all part of the sell to us fans.

Then I'm all ears. It's either that or a horrendous contract (Anderson, Leonard, etc.).

All these other teams want to take Mills to the hoop and posterize him.

And like I said, him serving no purpose when he is inevitably hurt HELPS THE TANK.

He wants the gig, he's gonna want to prove he can execute this trade. His signings are being ridiculed (if even unfairly) in NBA circles and the media. He needs to win this trade.

I get it but if Frank is sucking out there I don't want Baker to be his replacement with Eric Bledsoe icing his knees on the bench. Just want a vet he can hurdle after a couple of months into the season.
