Watching the game right now and I really think Pritchard can be the starting PG for the Celtics.

PP should sit. He doesn't need reps. We need to see more of Mader and Edwards.
As far as Nesmith. He and Langford need to play. They need reps.
Some of the teams in summer league are actually really good.
The Magic game tomorrow should be a good test. They have jalen Suggs, who was the 5th pick in the draft, was projected to go in the top 4. He's 6'4", 205 and a beast on defense. That should be a great test for both Pritchard and madar to go against Suggs. The Magic also have Cole Anthony playing in summer league - he was their starting PG last yr, he had a bunch of games with 20+ points, including 37 points in the last game of the season.
Next game after that we play Philly. They have 1 of the best back courts in summer league with Springer and Maxey. Springer was late 1st round pick but I actually had him top 10 on my big board. Maxey was a good rotation player for Philly last yr as a rookie. They both have been crushing summer league so far. Again, that will be a great test for Pritchard, Madar, Nesmith, etc.
In the playoffs we might face a team like Houston or Sacramento. Houston has 2 freaks in their back court with Jalen Green and Josh Christopher. Both were 1st round picks, Green was no. 2 pick overall. Both with good size and crazy athleticism.
SAC has Davion Mitchell. Mitchell was no. 9 pick in the draft and has been crushing summer league. I saw a couple of crazy plays of his on twitter, 1 where he played insane on the ball defense shutting down James Bouknight (considered 1 of the best 1 on 1 scorers in the draft and on this play Mitchell made Bouknight look like a bum) and another play where Mitchell made a crazy dribble drive move to the rim for a bucket - he's good.
So bottom line, Pritchard and everyone else currently on our summer league roster absolutely can and will get better by continuing to play. None of them are above the summer league competition - not when you still have guys like Mitchell, Suggs, Green and Maxey out there balling. Springer, Mitchell and Suggs were arguably the 3 best perimeter defenders in the draft.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

This seems like a strong reaction. In at least Pritchard's case, I don't know that there's much more he can learn playing against guys that he's clearly better than. He can get reps in practice and continue to work on skills. Not saying it would be the worst thing if he continued playing. But Summer League is where you you go to work on particular skills or find out what you have in certain players. Madar can get more of a look to see what we have there. Bruno could use more reps. Romeo could certainly use more reps against opposing teams. I feel comfortable with what I know about PP and to a lesser extent Nesmith.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

No way in hell Pritchard is clearly better than Jalen Suggs.
This is from the Magic summer league game the other day, with Cole Anthony driving and kicking it out to Suggs for a 3:
Our next 2 games will be a very good test for Pritchard. These next 2 games will push him, they will make him better, they will help his development and give us a better idea of what he can do.
We're going against the Magic with a back court of Suggs and Anthony. Both of them are just as good as Pritchard, probably better. Suggs is definitely better.
Game after that we face Philly, with a back court of Jaden Springer and Tyrese Maxey. Both of them are just as good as Pritchard, if not better.
Then we have the playoffs, where the competition will be better than it has been in these first 2 summer league games we have seen..in the playoffs Pritchard is likely to go against Jalen Green (might be the best scorer in summer league so will really test Pritchard's defense) and/or Davion Mitchell (probably the best perimeter defender in summer league)

Can't wait till Carsen is off the team. For such a small dude, he's such a big black hole out there.

Romeo look kinda uncomfortable out there. Probably because they are trying to develop him as a ball handler. Along with his previous injuries, his development been pushed back some
I don't think Romeo will maximize his innate ability, but I think he could still hit a very serviceable groove this season. We'll see.
He's almost 2 years younger than PP, for example, and so still a year younger than PP was as a rook. (Also younger than Nesmith.)
Good to remember that they're humans, and sometimes pretty good humans at that: https://www.masslive.com/celtics/2019/07/boston-celtics-rookie-romeo-langford-is-reserved-but-he-achieved-rock-star-status-in-indiana.html
(And yeah, the same goes for the likes of Carsen and Grant.)
So you are saying we should trade them all to Indiana?
Trade all three for Justin Holiday. Clears up some of the roster glut and gives the team another good vet wing!

absolutely can e the starter that I already mentioned somewhere. His Galactic shooting range + possible high pct will do wonders for the Js.
But as I also stated I don't believe there is any way an unproven first time HC gives it to an almost rookie over 2 very seasoned Vets in Smart and/or Schroder.

The only reason I can think of Boston continually allowing C Edwards to play and shoot so much is to try to up his value enough to move him somehow. But I feel the opposite is happening. The more he plays the more he solidifies he is NOT worthy to e on a NBA Roster.
How refreshing would it be to sit him out a game or 2 for Boston.

I think edwards getting a good amount of mins at summer league is a combination of:
a) in our first game we only had 4 guys with any NBA experience to speak of, those 4 guys played the most mins, Edwards was 1 of them (nesmith, langford, pritchard were the others..and in the 2nd game we only had 5 guys with any NBA experience to speak of (those other 4 guys plus fernando)..which is why those guys got more mins
b) increase edwards trade value

Rockets vs Pistons summer league game. Look at the talent and level of play in this game. Both of these teams would probably beat our summer league team. it would at the very least be a really good challenge for our guys. that includes Pritchard, so please everyone - stop saying Pritchard is too good for summer league and stop saying he's a man among boys at summer league. There's quite a few guys in this game who are just as good (if not better) than Pritchard.
The Rockets won by 20, which is scary because after this game word got out that Usman Garuba will be added to their summer league squad. He hadn't been playing in their first couple of games because the Olympics just wrapped up. And it's understandable that Garuba needed a few days to rest cause he went right from an 80 game pro season in europe to the Olympics.
So based on how good the rockets looked in this win over the pistons and the fact that they are now adding Garuba to the squad, I'd say they're probably the favorites to win summer league.
We might face them if we get deep into the summer league playoffs..
Oh and the Rockets might not even be the best Summer League team.

1. The Rockets SL team is basically the Rockets. Hooray for them having some success.
2. There’s no SL playoffs this year, just a one game “finals” between the two best teams, while everyone else gets a (perhaps random?) 5th game which is not yet scheduled.

Agreed. I think it would take the combination of Smart being traded and Schroder out with injury or illness. I also think he'll be much more seasoned to handle it by next spring, such as if injury leads to him starting in the playoffs.

1. haha. yeah that's true pretty much. The rockets real team is their summer league team + Wood, Theis, Porter Jr and Jae-Sean Tate. Oh and John Wall but they're trying to trade him I think and he's always injured. But yeah, a lot of dudes on the rockets summer league team will be key guys for them and at least 1 (maybe more) will be starters for them.
2. Didn't know that about the schedule. Well, our playoff game will probably be against a decent team, maybe Houston, SAC or someone else who will probably be a good test for our guys so the reps will help them..
