Been heartbroken since Yakub Purrtl was dealt. He is THE perfect 5 for the Raptors, as he finishes at the hoop, rebounds an protects the rim AND is such an underrated passer.

Not a goddamn chance Pop lets him go.

Fultz and Issac are damaged goods. Bamba...the jury is very much still out on him.

Now, at the same time, ADOBE has not exactly been Cal Ripken Jr. with his lack of durability.

Yeah, that was one of the worst trade packages ever proposed. Like Maxi Kleber, Tim Hardaway and a single first rounder. It was crazy bad.

BS is such a dumba$$

If we were trading Pascal why wouldn't we trade him Simmons directly?

I don't know if this has been discussed earlier but what do u guys think about adding yusuf nurkic? Hes only 27. Thought he was older. Hes a big strong 5 with playmaking ability, very good rebounder and would be a good drop defender in the paint. Hes lost a bit of mobility since his injury a couple years back.

I like Nurkic,
The challenge is if you give up any assets for is he is a UFA this summer.
You risk him being a rental this season.

If the Blazers blew it all up and he ended up here as part of a larger deal I wouldn't mind it as it would be useful to see how he would look in the system, we would just need to do it without any picks or major non-expiring assets which could be tricky.

I've liked him for a while but I really don't see the point.

If we are not going to be building with/around Siakam and FVV then I don't see the point in paying to bring in veterans. What's more is he only has one more year left on his deal. So there's a very real possibility that after his final year, he could leave in free agency.

So like everything else, I think management has to decide what we're doing and what direction we are going.

I'm surprised people think OG is so incredibly valuable.
I love the guy. Barnes looks to be better, and I think Pascal is better too. Never a bad thing to have three very good players for the 3 and the 4. I'm just thinking of ways to diversify that glut into a guard and center.

Bamba a former top 6 pick.
Fultz a former 1st pick.
Isaac a former top 6 pick.

All three of them are undervalued due to injury/lack of playing time.

What player is OG worth (in your estimation), that is actually attainable?

Are people thinking Tyrese Haliburton (and salary ballast)? Maybe this is better, but would rather try for a big.

DeAndre Ayton (not possible IMO, Suns have Bridges).

Jarret Allen? ( I'd rather have Bamba, Isaac and Fultz)

Myles Turner and Duarte might be solid package that would work from both sides.

I mean in a perfect world, ya it would be a great deal for the Raptors if everything worked out perfect, i.e. all those guys are healthy, including OG himself.

but as of right now, its a no for me.

If Fultz and Isaac weren't so injury prone (and Isaac wasn't an antivaxxer) then I would do this deal. The problem is that currently you would be paying $33,000,000.00 a year for two (2) players who played a combined 8 games last year :noway:

I love OG but I would consider trading him for Jarrett Allen or the Turner / Duarte package just for the roster balance. That said, I do not really entertain these deals until I have seen OG play with the full team to see if he can take the next step we all thought he was taking in preseason.

the risk of fultz, issac AND Bamba being like 10 - 15 million per year in dead cap money is HUGE.

they have almost zero trade value.

For comparisons sake; OG's contract is one of the best values in the leauge -- his production outweighs his salary by a lot.

Fultz, Issac and to a much lesser extend Bamba arent even providing production to justify their rookie scale contracts.

I want to see what OG does going forward as well but a Allen trade would be interesting.

I could see something like this:

Rockets - Dragic, Banton, Portland 1st rounder
Blazers - Christian Wood
Raptors - Nurkic

but I don't think we'd give up Banton for half a season of Nurkic and his bird rights.

If Nurkic is coming here, it's probably on like a 33m over 3 year (3rd year player option) MLE deal if he wants to leave Portland this summer because he thinks Dame isn't staying long-term, and teams are scared to offer him more than the MLE because his block rate has dropped in half and he might be on the verge of being too slow to be effective.

its like any other asset evaluation.

What is there production versus their expected cost.

Fultz and issac have a good risk of being non tendered for this reason.

if a gm trades an asset like og for these three he'd be fired quickly because he clearly cant do math lol.

dont know what to tell you, other than to repeat myself, issac and fultz have basically never produced enough to justify their rookie scale contracts.

Cant see any teams lining up to pay 10+ million a year for any of these three, let alone giving up a stud on a value contract to do so.

Ahhh ic. You don't actually have a value for OG. Just NOT this proposal. Very insightful.

Isaac - valuation by agkagk = non-tendered.
6th overall pick in 2017
Last heathy season at age 22 (in 29 min/g):
11.9 PPG, 6.8 REB, 1.4 AST, 1.6 STL, 2.3 BLK, 0.34 3pt%
WS/48 = 0.120

OG at 22 (in 30 min/g)
10.6 PPG, 5.3 REB, 1.6 AST, 1.4 STL, 0.7 BLK, 0.39 3pt%
WS/48 = 0.134 (followed by 0.104 and 0.101 on increased usage the subsequent 2 yrs)

Health and self creation obviously count in OGs favor, but the actual production and impact (and possibly trajectory?) of Isaac and OG was quite similar prior to the injury.

Basically, I think you are undervaluing the Orl guys.

That said, I typically project full recoveries for these athletes. Durant, Embiid, Steph and his ankles. I think most of these guys come back strong, and are undervalued because of overly conservative risk assessments. I concede that some guys never recover (Brand, Boogie, Porzingis etc.).

Can you offer up a suitable player that you would accept in a trade for OG? I'm curious.

youre trade proposal is garbage, shows little understanding of play evaluations, contract values, both perceived and actual.

you can project full recoveries all you want, but i dont have copies of their xrays or medicals so i cant. I can only go by their production and the cost to resign them based on their current scale deals.

isaac has played a total of 136 games in 4 years, og in his first THREE played 212.

Comparing og's 69 game age 22 season to isaacs 34 game age 22 season, is a bit short sited, especially since issac has done jack all before and literally nothing after. but what a decent 34 games of being force fed the ball it was!

If you think committing to resigning fultz, bamba and issac to 50 - 75 million dollar deals is a good idea, which is what trading og's exceptionally valuable contract for that poo poo platter is doing, then good luck and good night!

Merry christmas and why do you want to see masai get fired so bad? :(

If you think committing to resigning fultz, bamba and issac to 50 - 75 million dollar deals is a good idea, which is what trading og's exceptionally valuable contract for is doing, then good luck and good night!

Merry christmas!

IMO, your rebuttal is garbage.
Not a mention of what OG is worth.
Is he worth all stars only? Super stars? Top 5 pick plus salary ballast?

Re: 2021-22 Season: Draft, Trades, and FA Ideas Thread

My dream trade is becoming more of a reality:

Philly out: Green, Simmons, 3 FRPs/3 Swaps
Philly in: Dame

Toronto out: Dragic, Boucher, Flynn, 3 FRPs/3 Swaps
Toronto in: Simmons

Portland out: Dame
Portland in: Green, Dragic, Boucher, Flynn (all flippable) and 6 FRPS/6 Swaps (all redeemable in 6 years rather than 12)

Philly gets their Dame dream to make a chip run. Portland gets the biggest haul of futures in history to set off their firesale (trading Mccollum/Nurkic/powell next). Toronto adds Simmons without losing anything significant from their roster. Continues the long, tall ball-handler, positionless basketball vision. The jankiest of lineups for the jankiest coach. Trent becomes 6th man.
