Would Bargnani for one of your late first rounders interest you?

I'd bite on it if you toss in another pick or two. I mean, this is if Ferry completely bombs our off season cap space.

I'd be all over this. Bargnani is an extremely flawed player, but he some ability. He needs an offensive coach to put him in position to succeed.

And only a few days after this post Bargs suffers a season ending injury

We could use a scoring guard that can hit the three. What about Kevin Martin?

I think Martin is going to give OKC a discount.

Maybe. Martin is an expendable piece for OKC considering the fact they've got Lamb.

He is expendable, but if OKC can bring him back for cheap, then I don't see why they wouldn't bring him back unless we S&T some picks to them..

Flooding the Hawks Board w/ Trade Ideas

Post#848 » by 2Mas » Wed May 8, 2013 8:30 pm

Celtics fan here.. Trying to play the same card for about 2 years now.

Atl Trades: Josh Smith
Bos Trades: Bradley, Bass, Melo, #16

At first you say no probably. But listen. Bradley isn't a pg, he sucked this postseason cause he had to be. Next to Teague, Lou Will whoever else comes back he can cut & play defense (2 things he great at). Bass - bummer regular season. Really stepped it up in the playoffs. Melo - a question mark. Why not try to develop him. i"d keep but need him for salary purposes.

#16 pick. This is the key. You guys control the entire draft for 15 mins straight. Picks 16, 17, 18 lead to endless possibilities & something as drafting 2 guys the LAL wants & S&T for Dwight July 1st? LAL needs flexibility & youth & D12 made it pretty clear he's unhappy lol. So getting 2 first round picks is better than nothing.

Use the 3rd pick to draft the sf "next dirk" Saric. Fill out 5mil in cap & MLE money with Brandon Wright & Maynor? or Udrih? Maybe a vet like Pietrus for the bench. 3rd pg can be anyone. Livingston maybe?

Teague-Udrih-Livingston
Bradley-Williams-Jenkins
Saric-Stevenson-Pietrus
Horford-Bass-Scott
Howard-Wright-Melo

Front court is huge.. Back court is quick as hell. Obviously Lou Will needs to come back healthy.

Thoughts on the deal? lol You guys got cap so it's always fun pretending your a gm. Boston would love him. Help out KG, score on transition, rebound & play good defense. Plus being bff with Rondo would help.

Nah.

Our only players under contract next year are Horford, Lou Williams and John Jenkins.

Melo sucks. bass is avg.

Bradley is a good starting point. Throw in Jeff Green and the #16 pick and we can at least start talking.

Bass and Fab Melo are not wanted here...at all.

I would rather let Josh walk than waste cap on Bass and the others. I like Bradley but he will be in the final year of his deal.

Hey, if Josh doesn't wanna come back I'd love to do this, although I agree that Bass is a waste of cap

Yeah Bass is overpaid. But Bradley's what 2+ mil so 9 between the 2 is not too bad.

Plus IFF you guys got Howard. I mean Bass play 24 backing up Horford & Howard would definitely help him out.

I was just curious to see what actual hawk fans say.

Gracias for the feedback.

Sign Iggy

Then pull off a trade with the Knicks;

Hawks get: Raymond Felton, Tyson Chandler, James White*, Quentin Rich*, Marcus Camby* & whoever is drafted at 24

Knicks get: Jeff Teague, D. Stevenson & Josh Smith

Hawks starting 5;
Raymond Felton
Lou Williams
Andre Iguodala
Al Horford
Tyson Chandler

* = expiring

No thanks. A froncourt of Iggy, Horford and Chandler would be pretty great defensively, but they'd struggle to score buckets in the halfcourt.

Ray F is not wanted here. I'd rather take a young PG in the draft or bring back Devin Harris.
Lou is best coming off the bench.

That lineup does nothing to improve the Hawks franchise long or short term.

Question regarding Josh Smith. Does he have a cap hold on Atlanta's salary cap or is that only for RFAs.

But we can renounce his rights and have that cap hold removed if I'm not mistaken.
