I would take Doncic and a bunch of G-League scrubs than this entire roster.

Why?

Because there would be more hope than this garbage called the Orlando Magic

Why not Isaac for Smith straight up?
Same age, same draft, same injury bugs, non of them is really taking league by storm, yet Smith puts much better stats.
But Dallas has ballhandler for future and needs defender at PF spot. Playing with Deandre would help Isaac as well.

Magic need ballhandler and really don't need another PF who by most odds probably won't be as good as Gordon any time soon.

In general last 4 drafts had at least 1 clear star from day one , zero development required
2014- Embiid
2015- Zingis
2016 - Simmons
2017 - Tatum
and now Dončić

Ofc there are Booker, Mitchell and many others but i didn't want to count them all

btw Merry Christmas :D

I think DSJ has little trade value, We should be able to get him without giving up Bamba, Isaac or Gordon.

yea i mean he is such a scrub 13 ppg ,4 apg, 3 rpg, 20 years old, uber athletic, nice kid overall, improving from rookie year.
What a bust.
He has so much less value than our picks.

Dennis Smith has already went through an ACL tear and missed time at least twice last season with knee related issues. I can't blame Dallas for wanting to move a probable injury plagued player.

Even if he wasn't injured I don't think he's anything special, he posted some stats at 28% usage. You can make almost any player look semi-good if you feature them.

If you gave Jarell Martin 28% usage he'd put up some stats and many here would be claiming he's a really good player.

they arent looking to move him because of injury, its because they see Doncic as their PG.

Smith now missing games because of wrist on shooting hand lol
it has nothing to do with ACL tear he had
For Smith Jr., the road to recovery was hard, and started the day of his diagnosis last year. Smith Jr. knew before he even left California that he had torn his ACL, an injury that would require him to sit out at least 10 months and miss his entire senior year of basketball. But when he got home, he quickly realized that the injury — while serious — might not have been as worse as originally feared. There was no pain and swelling in his knee, allowing doctors to operate almost right away. And when they did go in for surgery, they found a surprise:

Smith Jr. had an extra ligament in his knee. If you didn’t even know that was possible, you’re certainly not alone, as only 20 percent of all humans have one, doctors told Smith Sr. But those who do have the added benefit of quicker recovery times when coming off serious injuries like the one Junior suffered.

I don’t agree. If I remember correctly he had a really good predraft workout with us.. probably would have been the pick if Isaac was gone.

Pepe and BambaExpresa.. your negativity embodies why I stay away from this board a lot.

Now, we need a PG desperately no question. But our starts +/- is not terrible, our bench however is abysmal. I do believe we can find a better backup pg situation. Can we discuss that without attacking the Magic as an organization? Or every player on our roster?

So would you favor going after DSJ over DLo?

Would rather trade Bamba than AG or Isaac, but I realize that doesn’t leave us with the best fit.

Trading Bamba or Isaac at this point doesn't help much, because their value is low and their salary is not big, so it doesn't impact our cap as well. AG is one of the real options that we have to trade and get something useful or with high potential.

Much easier trading someone on a rookie deal than trading someone making 23 million this year, especially in a deal for another young player.

I think Bamba has good value around the league, Isaac too but I can understand if some are worried about his injuries.

Another added reason to trade anyone other than a rookie is the contract value. Trading AG for someone like Matthews as an expiring gives us more cap space and ability to retain guys on valuable rookie deals.
