LOL.

Fully believe this dude is the type of guy to walk in on his wife cheating and waits patiently with a smile on his face til it’s done before he gives her a hug and says ‘give me a break, I understand’.

What a joke.

If anyone needs to go,it's Tatum.

He doesn't have it mentally to be the alpha on a championship team.

Jimmy Butler willed his team to a win last night. Tatum can't be bothered to give that type of effort.

Soft as butter.

It’s not Tatum’s fault. Dude is who he is.

We made a MASSIVE mistake firing Udoka and hiring a bum to replace him. Yes yes I know the PC crowd will say ‘Udoka deserves the death penalty buaaa buaaaa’ but dude kept these guys in check. We went back to a Brad Stevens..and now we see softness everywhere. Firing him is understandable, hiring a guy without his traits was a mistake.

Hopefully teams won’t respect them after this. If they move on, maybe they’ll be a sleeper

We played soft and dumb
Going to game 6 instead of finishing it here
ATL has the momentum and we need to gather ourself and beat them there

13 up 6 minutes to go and JT slows the game. Dumb

people saying we should trade brown, trade smart because of 1 game is what i meant.

It's not that big of a deal. Hawks needed Trae to pull like 5 shots out of his a%%, hitting threes from like 10 feet behind the line and they still barely beat us.

I'm not moved. We got this.

Ya'll acting like our season is over lmao.

Remember, we needed 7 games to beat the 8 seed hawks in 2008 and still won the title. we needed 7 games to beat the bucks and heat last year.

Replace the two and we would have a championship last season and would be the clear favorites this season with a go to guy in the clutch. Tatum is more talented but butler does things you can’t really teach and it’s up to the player to have that kind of dna.

I love JT but he has to be the most frustrating top players in the league. I just feel uneasy in the clutch with him leading the way. Game 4 against the warriors was that game where we needed him to be a star but he failed big time. You ask for redemption this season and you’re seeing signs already in round 1 with close games.

SMART has the organization by the balls. He must have something on them. The way he gets mentioned as part of the BIG 3 when there are guys way better them him on the bench. One hustle play, 3 bad turnovers or shots.

Brogdon is going to want out at this rate. No excuse for Brogdon to sit in the 4th. He makes big shot after big shot.

We got comfortable at home.
It's an epic meltdown and we should have closed the series but we'd rather get these bumps in the road now, and still be up 3-2 with home court.

I'm not sure people are giving trae young enough credit here. We had some awfully boneheaded plays but Trae Young was an absolute savage from behind the arc.

Time to re-focus on the task ahead.
Reminds me of the melt downs here in 2008 when we went to 7 games vs ATL lol.

Imagine being in the Bucks shoes right now.

If Miami wins the Bucks series, we'll basically have to take care of an injured Joel Embid and a play in Miami team...both with Home Court Advantage and then HCA in the finals.

Luck is on our side this year. FINALLY, we arent losing any key players to injuries.

The loss was tough tonight, especially since we played so well for 3 quarters, but we are certainly favorites to come out of the East now. If Miami finishes Milwaulkee we will have one of the best shots at a championship we may ever see again with this group.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

I don't know what the 2008 has to do with this team. That would be like me saying the warriors blew 3-1 lead in 2016 and they lost the championship. It literally has the same relevance.

The bottom line it is concerning this team continually is playing down to the level of competition and can't finish games . I know you are always quick to point "so does Milwaukee!!!" and my response to that is well look where they are right now.

You're pointing out Trae needed 5 threes to put Boston away I'm going to point out that Boston would have won this game regardless of how Trae played if at the 5-minute mark they didn't' walk the ball up, take bad shots, have two terrible lackadaisical passes that led to turnovers, smart committing an absurd foul and Tatum getting called for T. Boston was literally mailing it in the last 5 minutes of the game like they had a 30-point lead not a 10-point lead.

This team is the same exact team that we saw all season. If this team had a switch like everyone was saying this series would have absolutely been over. There's no excuse whatsoever to lose last night's game considering they were largely in control the entire game against a seventh seed.

As long as marcus smart is our starting point guard we will continue to lose games like this. We need a pg who controls tempo and doesnt make bonehead plays in crunch time. I love his passion and grit and he’s a tremendous person and teammate but he consistently hurts this team

I also assume Embiid plays with a strained LCL whenever the next series starts.
But no one has co-signed my idea and there's no news of re-injury to the hand, or concern about it, so I guess this is all hopefully moot.

(all I could quickly find: an SI article from yesterday in which JB -- after G4 -- said the hand is getting 'better each day' https://www.si.com/nba/celtics/top-stories/jaylen-brown-explains-what-led-to-him-taking-protection-off-lacerated-right-hand-in-game-4)

Can't afford to make assumptions like that in the playoffs. Trae could go on a heater, hit every contested shot, and score 60 to win the game. Can't imagine how angry the players would be if Jaylen wasn't playing for that.

right, better off jumping to a first hald 20 point lead, then securing that lead early in the 3rd to make atlanta quit

were the Celtics any better at taking care of business in the playoffs last year?
round 1: yes
beyond that: no
if they fail to get past the first round this year I'm all in on concern about the coach.
