That I can get....

I had an ex=GF that went through the foster care system... amazing lady, she had the biggrst heart, but.....the fear of abandonment and every action of mine being weight against her fears was too much. Forming a long term, trusting relationship was exhausting and most likely impossible. It was the weirdest mindset, random hobo on the street corner that most of us would be on guard about... she saw no reflags and would go up and hug and talk to. Meanwhile all her friends had every positive and negative action micro analyzed for every possible negative outcome that in her head was a "planned" possibility.

I am sure Jimmy is not that bad, but even if he has a touch of that... I could see how spoon feeding his emotions could be taxing.

I want some of:
Ingram
Zion
Bane
H. Jones

If we ended up with 2/4 in a three team deal, I would be psyched.

Wiltside wrote:When people mention the bad endings we’ve had with superstars, they’re forgetting the few things they have in common.

Wade, Shaq and Jimmy are all at around the same age and contract situation as to when things turned sour. All wanted final, legacy paydays that take them through their late thirties. Wade had taken unders, so it’s fair that he wanted some degree of return later on. That wasn’t the case with Shaq or Jimmy, who were paid max dollars and were more than fairly compensated. Availability also became an issue for all three of them too, which is an issue that wouldn’t improve with age.

Bron is the outlier, who left in his prime for other reasons. But it’s clear that management doesn’t want to pay max dollars to players in the twilight of their career.

I don't think it's exactly that because if it is, why not trade him if you think he's about done as a star when you can get a good amount for him in the summer? I think it has more to do with the summer of 2026 (and Butler not having much good/great years left), if you look at Miami's contracts Butler, Rozier, Robinson, Highsmith, Love's and Jovic's contracts all are up, that's nearly 110 million coming off the books all at once with Bam and Herro your only non-rookie contracts on the books. Miami will have Jaquez Jr, Ware and Larrson on rookie contracts and Jovic will have a very low cap number. I think Miami had decided to do a huge pivot 2026 while trying to stay competative until then.

2026-2027
Bam 49 mil
Herro 33 mil
Jaquez Jr 6 mil
Ware 5 mil
Larsson 2 mil
Jovic ~7 mil cap hold

Everyone else currently on the roster... gone.

That's roughly 102 million in contracts for Miami.
The salary cap is estimated to be around 170 million which leaves Miami with 68 million dollars for free agency and a space past that to take back more salary in trades while staying under the tax.

Right or wrong l…fair or not, the optics are what they are. It just doesn’t look good.

Players come here because they want to win and make the most money possible. Miami has a history of both.

It's not complicated. Stop treating the NBA like a soap opera. Players want money and winning. Nothing else matters.

We haven't won anything since Lebron left. Also there is no way star players can make more money here with the new CBA. In reality they will be losing 50+ to come here, then factor in how we treat Jimmy, they wont make up that money here.

Anything? Seriously?
We "Won" TWO Eastern Conference Championships!!
Please name teams that did that during that span.
If it's only the rings u go by (which is quite childish tbh), how teams "won" since LeBron left here? We've done pretty well considering we got back stabbed. Where are the Bulls since Jordan left? Lol

Battery Bro makes a lot of sense....

Jimmy is high visible, and while we have no idea what is motivating him, we have seen his life play out in the media. Both his ups and his downs....and Battery Bro's thoughts on it...do make sense.

Jimmy is one of my all time favorite big time guys. I tend to prefer those underdogs more, but Jimmy in my opinion is a highly likable dude even with this temperament. I wish he was the type of guy that could keep his thoughts in house, that is just a pet peeve of mine....you never talk about family in public..but all things considered I still wish the best for the dude.

I hope one day they can bury the hatched, our run with Butler, to me, was very enjoyable. I loved those scrappy teams pushing some elite teams in the playoffs.

From what I can see, we'd need to send all of those Memphis players except Clarke, and whatever picks (and possibly some of our own), to New Orleans to reach Ingram's salary.

We'd look like this:

Pg: Herro / Rozier
Sg: Robinson / Burks
Sf: Ingram / Jaquez
Pf: Highsmith / Clarke / Jovic
C: Adebayo / Ware

But, we should send New Orleans Duncan and can keep Smart, while moving J-Rich and Burks to Memphis. Smart would be a great culture guy for us:

Pg: Smart / Rozier
Sg: Herro / Larsson
Sf: Ingram / Jaquez
Pf: Highsmith / Clarke / Jovic
C: Adebayo / Ware

It's a crowded frontcourt but can you imagine the defensive intensity of Bam, Smart, and Highsmith? Too bad Dru couldn't stay healthy...

At the same time as I don't like the Jimmy drama, I would love to see Emo Jimmy pop up in the audience today, like 80th row

I don't love this. Its a lot of a$$ we gotta take back.
Smart - I think he's overrated. At his age, he wouldnt do much for this roster. I would flip him to a 3rd team for 2 or 3 2nd rounders. We need to replenish our 2nds.
Konchar - Not a bad deal. I'd keep him around
Clarke - 12 mil for 3 years for that production is nasty. I would try to send him somewhere else for an expiring or a shorter contract
Luke - An expiring, great.

This is just a lot poopoo platter. We would need atleast 2 1st rounders. Honestly we are better letting Butler walk than take this without 2 picks at the minimum.

Sucks it ends like this with Jimmy, had a good run. I dont like the grizz package unless Bane is in there. We need some young talent AND 1st picks

You guys think lakers would come out of nowhere and snatch him ?

They would want to keep their depth since it’s a win now move.

What’s a realistic package ?
