Each team has different needs. For teams like
MIN, CLE, LAC, LAL, ORL, GSW Jrue has a TON of value. They’d all give a 1st for him imo, but obviously trades are more complex than that

Can’t agree more. Time to “zig” when everyone else is “zagging.”

Let’s see how flexible, style wise, Joe & Brad are next year. Or, are they hell-bent on the 3 being the only way to win.

Living and dying by the 3 is getting tough to watch, if I’m being totally honest.

This board is dying to be a treadmill team again. So it kind of makes sense.

Just lost to the Knicks, with home court, in the second round, with a $200M+ payroll.
Best player is out next year and probably won’t get back to being himself, on the basketball court, for another full year after that.

C’s are a treadmill team, so…

They lost to the Knicks for a lot of reasons. The roster is not a treadmill roster. But sure that’s a logical opinion if you just look at the results of the 2nd round. Sure. So your solution is to blow it up and make them a sure fire treadmill squad?

You’re also conveniently forgetting that Jrue JB and KP were banged up before Tatum’s injury. They should retool but you shouldn’t trade some of these guys for peanuts because they were hurt/didn’t play well in a series they should have swept.

It’s time for a reset. I’d feel differently if they hadn’t blown it against GSW, but a clear trend is setting in:
• 2022: Three straight losses to GSW
• 2023: Home court, down 0-3 to Miami
• 2024: Locked up the championship
• 2025: Home court, down 0-2 to NYK

Over the last 39 years, the Celtics have just 2 titles. For comparison, the Lakers have 10. If you’re good with that level of mediocrity, fine. I’m not. Tatum and Brown have improved, but their iso-heavy offense is getting old. Before Tatum’s injury, he looked like he’d regressed to 2021.

It’s time: sell high, buy low. Business 101.

The idea of Brown leading this team next year honestly scares me. If it doesn’t work out, his trade value craters, and I think most of us see that coming.

Lakers have 10 titles since 1982, which isn't 39 years.

Great catch, my fault. Appreciate the fact check.

Doesn’t change my stance.

Last 40 years
LAL - 7 titles
BOS - 3 titles

Since 2000
LAL - 6 titles
BOS - 2 titles

My Miami insider friend seems to think KD to miami would be a lock except one hangup. Miami wants to offer wiggins duncan robinson this year's first and jovic

Phoenix wants Ware instead of Jovic and Miami refuses to budge.
There is no prize for coming so close Do something!

The Celtics have been the better franchise over the past 10 years. Golden State is the only franchise that's one more than one title the past 10 years.

The League has changed a lot and the new CBA will make it even more difficult to win multiple titles.

Thanks, but I’m good. Different people have different standards. I’m not sure the folks who just paid a $6bill evaluation for the C’s will be ok with your standards.

What franchise has been better than Boston over the past 10 years besides Golden State?

I get that you’re fine with the status quo, but I’m not.

The only reason your argument makes sense is because this team has repeatedly fallen short. They should have accomplished much more over the last five years, realistically, they should have at least two titles by now. If you want to keep making excuses for them, that’s up to you. I’m not going to do that.

Good news is the draft is days away.

We will most likely get our answer within a week.

You're making lots of silly assumptions. This franchise hasn't been mediocre over the past 10 years.

It’s a trick question. How do you define success? It also depends on your age. I grew up watching the C’s in the 80’s. I expect more.

Makes sense - Miami loves dealing with teams over a barrel because a player wants to go to Miami lol.

Maybe a Lillard redux where Miami doesn’t get its demands met.

Kevin Durant is practically the crypt keeper. That is a pretty decent offer if that is what Miami is offering.

Return to Boston Celtics
