Krazy, you would pay 6 mill for Omar Asik, why does getting a starter at 15 mean so much to you?

ross has less size, length, and weight to him than turner does... idk how hes going to play SF when turner struggles to do so on a full time basis...
and you guys realize you are using a 15th overall pick to possibly replace lou who was a late 2nd
its easy to find small combo scorers who dont play defense

I think they would choose Ross over Rivers...but are not adverse to Rivers. Maybe Ross goes before their pick and they trade back a few spots and get River later. Who knows...but they like him...and he could blossom into a good rotation guy for them.

Well, you will probably be right since there's 29 other teams...the odds are obviously against him coming here, but I don't think he can be completely ruled out. I mean, if they want to solve the shooting issue (until we have a better option) and take the next step as a team, then Ray helps there a lot.

6 is the most i would pay... and 6 mill for what i feel is a good solid starting nba center in this league is a steal compared to what some guys are making right now

im not saying he wont come just here... he wont end up at any team that isnt a title contender... regardless of howmuch money they offer... book it

rivers has a promise from a lotto team so i dont think he will be there regardless...
and i still have a hard time seeing a guy smaller than turner playing SF for us

Look, I don't want Ross either. But Turner's size isn't why he struggles to play the 3. Ross actually would be a nice fit at the 3 because he has great athletic ability. That said, I don't like Ross and he has short arms.

So if Ross is the SG and Turner is the SF does that make a difference?
Ross could also be the backup at both positions or one of them and a vet SF is brought in. Doubt they start the year with Ross starting........but it better not be meeks starting instead:)

Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
If we draft Ross, wouldn't it be to bring him off the bench as the athletic wing with size that Thorn/Doug talked about them needing? If Iguodala and Turner are back, why would Ross start?

I think if they take Ross, then Iguodala was already traded for Al Jefferson or Pau Gasol.(or the deal is pending)

im assuming that iguodala is gone in this scenario as that almost seems certain

Oh, gotcha.
So if they don't have a deal for Iguodala on the table, do they still draft Ross?

Turner and Ross both have short arms, with Turner being less athletic than Ross, but maybe a bit stronger. I like Ross at SG at 15, but I don't really like either guy at SF defensively. Ross can get to the basket on cuts and in transition where his explosiveness comes into play and his lack of a handle doesn't. So Turner's passing would help Ross out offensively and Ross's shooting would be a huge improvement in our starting line-up. Offensively I like it, defensively it is a little less than desirable.
Add Jefferson and Allen as your two bigs to those two on the wings and watch teams pick and roll us to death. Jefferson is just a terrible defender and while Allen is a nice physical specimen as a third or fourth big man on D, but anything more than that is pushing it. Vuc will hopefully be adequate on D some day (and I am a Vuc fan).
With Ross and Turner (or Waiters and Turner) on the wings, you need a defensive monster in the paint, not just a straight up, big body guy like Lavoy, but a seriously scary shotblocker with mobility.

Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
turner actually has a longer wingspan than ross...
waiters i think can play SG as a starter in this league... he has a 6'7 wing span which is fine for SG, a bit short near 6'4 in shoes... but hes 221 pounds so hes thick and strong like wade in that respect

If things go as I think they MIGHT..this is what I envision:
Jefferson deal
Jrue/Watson
Turner/Meeks
Ross/Thad
Humphries/Lavoy
Jefferson/Vucevic
Now you may question Thad as a 3 or Jefferson as a 5 but in the east.....who knows. Doug can mix and match.
Gasol deal......
Jrue/FA
Turner/Meeks
Ross/Thad
Humphries/Lavoy
Gasol/Vucevic
Raptors deal
Jrue/Calderon
Waiters/Meeks
Turner/Thad
Humphries/Davis
Lavoy/Vucevic
I really dont like the Raptor deal as much...Calderon just really isnt a huge need......it depends on how much they love Waiters.
Jefferson deal
Jrue/Watson
Turner/Meeks
Ross/Thad
Humphries/Lavoy

Take the above to mean I think Deron and Humphries are the two of the first they talk to when free agency opens........but I do not see us getting Deron unless we can somehow arrange a Deron/Howard combo and i think thats far fetched.

Just say NO to Kris Humphries. Really can't see the reason for wasting valuable cap space on another middle of the road solution.

Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
id rather have him than brand.........
valuable cap space is only valuable if you have guys that want to come here unless its a sign and trade or a player for a 2nd rounder type dump i guess.
gotta run.......next few weeks should be fun.
