So how long until people realize that when these guys are jumping over people, they are using the ball to push off of people for more height? They called out Jones for doing it with his off hand, but they are doing it with the ball too.

Definitely cringe-worthy moment of the night. They wouldn't let him off the hook.

I really didn't think I'd be one of the only people to enjoy that dunk contest. Must of been atleast 4-5 dunks that made me get excited. 7-8/10 for me.

I was just satisfied to see Curry embarrass himself. Now that was funny.

The hate is strong with me on that guy, what can I say? lol

I kinda feel bad for Aaron Gordon. Last year he was robbed, this year he embarrassed himself out there in an epic choke.

Would look forward to seeing him redeem himself next year.

Such a horrid dunk contest. The drone thing was totally painful.

I want to see someone go medieval and launch a basketball with a trebuchet while dunker catches it and dunks it. That would be sweet.

I'd like to see a non NBA player dunk contest where you win the right to go against the NBA guys.

Then if you get some amazing non NBA dunkers winning, it might entice some big NBA names to get back into it.

Finally watched this all on DVR. Happy for Porzingas - he was one of the last that I expected to win it, but he did do well and deserved to win.

I liked the 3 point contest the best of the three. Eric Gordon deserved to win.

Wow did they put Curry on the spot w/ those half court shots. I wonder if he knew that was going to happen ahead of time? Some people watching/(or who will watch the footage later) probably don't realize how much energy it takes to shoot those long shots, so it looked bad that he couldn't do it w/ all those attempts, but in reality w/ each extra attempt it was even less likely that he'd make it. Should have gave him the 3 attempts and went right to plan B when he didn't get one in.

Felt bad for Aaron Gordon in the dunk contest. It's got to be so hard to not show your disappointment in a situation like that. I'd kind of like to see them have to do/or pick from a list of "standard dunks" in the first round that are judged according to pre-set guidelines. Then the ones who get into the final get to do their creative stuff then.

I too would like to see more stars in the dunk contest like someone said above - there are a lot of stars who can dunk, so they should find ways to get them to participate if they want it to be interesting (have mix of stars and specialty dunkers). With all the crazy props and stunts though, I'm guessing the top players (or their teams) are afraid of injury.

Who cares what actually happened (Steph bricking half court shots, Gordon sucking, DJ Khaled/Fat Joe, etc)? At the end of the day, Sager's foundation got $500,000, and All-Star Saturday night was pretty forgettable...as it's been for A WHILE outside of last year.

People are acting like this is something new lol.

Whomever plans the all-star events needs to be fired. They need to do more to inspire these guys participating and perhaps give more incentive for better players to join.

1) How about $100,000 to each player of the winning rookie-team game and $0 to the losers.
2) I like that idea of bringing non-NBA players to compete in the dunk contest to go against NBA players. You could have a national tourney which brings the top-4 guys to go against the top-4 NBA dunkers.
3) The 3-point contest should be mandatory for the top-8 3pt shooters who are playing in the all-star game or rookie game. That's it. These guys can handle competing for 45 minutes in a shooting competition the day before the AS game.
4) No more dunkers over 6'8.
5) How about a 2 on 2 tournament with NBA teammates? It might make it actually competitive

I have a idea for the dunk contest

- both all-star teams must name one player
- both rookie challenge teams must name one player
- nba gets to name four guys that they want

Thoughts?

Because it was for Craig and his foundation i was really rooting for Curry to hit one of those half court shots. If you were not then thats just bad karma on you and your team.

I really dig the skills contest now, they should continue to put more effort into making it a big part of all star weekend.

What really hurts the dunk contest these days are that most of the dunks we've seen on youtube or instagram etc, such that it leaves us a little bit underwhelmed. Modern technology puts these contests at a huge disadvantage to those of the past, even if we've never actually seen Dunk X or Dunk Y performed at an NBA dunk contest before.

If some of those dunks came out during the Jordan/Dominique era, we'd be losing our noggin a helluva lot more often.
