Yes I'm sure he will meet and exceed the $20 mm value that his contract is worth +trade kicker.

I'm telling you - they're believing his second half breakout is legit:

SelbyCobra wrote:I don't necessarily agree with it, but the Knicks are banking on his post ASG breakout as being real (and you can go back to almost the halfway point of the season to his being good actually starting).

Hardaway, Jr., Post-ASG:
32.0 MPG, 17.5 PPG, 3.5 REB, 2.6 ASST, .471 FG%, .593 TS%

By contrast, here are Klay Thompson's full-season numbers in the same categories:
34.0 MPG, 22.5 PPG, 3.7 REB, 2.1 ASST, .468 FG%, .592 TS%

Obviously Klay is a waaaaaay better defender, but I think the Knicks are buying THjr's second half last year as a jumping off point for the rest of his career. If it is, they actually win this contract in a BIG way - that's a valuable offensive player, playing efficiently, in an offensive-leaning league.

If not, then, well, yeah...it everything we fear and more.

Ok after calming down...Some serious thoughts.

Hardaway Jr has really improved with Atlanta and he can be a solid scoring option. Dude literally is a player that can shoot it well, I think Dotson and him will thrive with Frank.

But the money is def $50 million overspent.

This leads me to believe, Knicks are going to trade Melo and Courtney Lee who is a GREAT trade asset. We need space and I think with Melo going out Lee will get us picks within a Melo trade

So if we sign THJr... is that our off season? Seems like Mills was serious about no DRose... good. Is Melo still getting traded? Is Lee going or stay? Can we get Noah out of here?

None of these bozos know the game. They just want cheap attention and so they follow the flock of sheep.

I doubt you but I Am rooting for you Timmy, and it didn't surprise me that much after Phil was booted.

The team has been steadily improving it's talent base since we drafted Porzingis. People can't see it. We've gotten so much better and younger. KP, Willy, Frank, Baker, Dotson, now THJ. He's only 25 and made a big leap last season. All our picks going forward. We're on the right track so just breathe!

Dudes have not watched him hoop since he was a Knick. His improvement this year was spectacular. Dude can very well become a core piece.

How did that second half breakout look against the Wizards in the playoffs?

How does it help the tank? By tying up money for the next 4 years? Sorry, if we're going to tank, I'd rather tank AND have cap flexibility.

Is it really tying up money if Lee, O'Quinn, and Carmelo might not be on the roster on opening night?

I don't think it's any stretch of the imagination to say that we're the worse and most laughable franchise in all of professional sports given everything this organization has been through. We've out-clowned the Cleveland Browns.

Man, if I see one more person try to justify this by comparing it to other contacts.

All that matters is THIS contract for THIS team in it's CURRENT state. And it absolutely sucks and wipes out any flexibility we could have had over the next few years.

Especially in that very special year when our books would have been relatively clean and we need to re-up Porzingis and Willy.

Knicks probably see a lot of Allan Houston- like qualities in THjr. He will be a 25, 26, 27, and 28 years of age during the next 4 seasons. This is the right time to invest in his future.

He will be a potential trade asset too if his stats are where I project them to be.

People saying Holiday isn't much worse than THJ and how we are screwing over our 23 year old second round pick who hasn't played a second of NBA ball...jeez.
