Some versions of the Butler to Bucks trades had us taking back Portis. Our next game against the Bucks is 4/8 the same day his suspension ends.

Looks like we don't have to worry about the Spurs this year. Hope Wemby has a full recovery. The league needs him.

Spurs shut down Victor Wembanyama over blood clot in shoulder
Tim MacMahon

AUSTIN, Texas -- San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder, the team announced Thursday.

The Spurs said in a statement that the condition was discovered after Wembanyama returned to San Antonio after the All-Star Game.

A thrombosis is a form of a blood clot. The Spurs believe it is an isolated issue for Wembanyama.

Wembanyama, the reigning Rookie of the Year and a first-time All-Star this season, was averaging 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and a league-leading 3.8 blocks in 46 games for the 23-29 Spurs.

He will not be eligible for All-NBA, Defensive Player of the Year and other major awards because Wembanyama did not meet the 65-game minimum. Wembanyama had been a -2000 favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year at ESPN BET prior to the Spurs announcement.

The team said in its statement that updates on Wembanyama's condition would be provided as appropriate.

3.5 games behind Houston in the No. 4 seed, who is 3-7 in their last 10 games. Lakers lost to Charlotte last night, so they are obviously working through things. Tiebreakers will be important again.

4. Rockets 34-21 (Up 2-1, last meeting Feb. 21)
5. Lakers 32-21 (Up 2-1, last meeting Feb. 27)
6. Clippers 31-23 (Won 3-0)
7. Timberwolves 31-25
8. Mavericks 30-26 (Won 2-1)

He's obviously not Luka, but so far Max Christie is killing it in a larger role.

17 PPG (49/46/83), 5.2 RPG, 3.5 APG, 2 Stocks, 2 Turnovers. And they've been a better defense with him on the floor.

This is what it comes down to for Dallas:

The rear view mirror is not as great
SAC (T 2-2)
GSW (L1-3)
PHX (Winning 2-0, 2 to go)

One team will be very unhappy and miss the play-in. I hope it's PHX, to increase the chances for a KD trade.

We have 26 games to go and 9 with non playoff teams. If we win those. Then go .400 against playoff teams including PHI and DET. We will end with a 47 - 35 record.

Small hot streak after a trade, it happens probably will fall back down to earth soon.

ORL just lose a bad one to MEM. ORL down one and missed two 3s to take the lead. With one last shot down 1 and 8 sec, they didn't call timeout and bring the ball up slowly and missed the last shot. I think most of you would call for fire the coach

Tonight maybe the only time I regret the Gobert and Butler trade. Kessler, George, and Markkanen all played well in the win over HOU.

Mavs had caught us. Their loss to GSW puts us ahead of both of them. But a loss today and GSW is .5 behind us with the tie breaker. Clippers loss helps bring the top down. Same with recent Nuggets and Rockets losses. A very tough next 4 games will see us probably fall down before rising back up.

"I would be more optimistic long term in Philly than Phoenix long term because, despite the contracts, they have draft capital and some flexibility," an East scout said. "At least they've got [Tyrese] Maxey, [Jared] McCain, possibly another pick.

"Call this season a failure, start over, reset things and move forward. That's a real 'two timelines' sort of thing."

The same hope didn't exist for the Suns, who have mortgaged their future and haven't had a rash of injuries like Philadelphia has.

"It feels like the wheels have fallen off," a West executive said of Phoenix's season.

New York is 26-6 against teams with losing records, and 11-14 against teams with winning records. The Knicks are now 20th overall in defensive rating -- a shocking number for a Tom Thibodeau-coached team. Against top-10 offenses this season, the number is even worse -- dipping all the way down to 29th in the NBA, ahead of only the Toronto Raptors, per ESPN Research.

HOU beat MIL, they won so many close games this year. Still hoping MEM beat PHX . If PHX lose, I think we will basically in the play-in

Took a while to figure out what you were trying to say....yes, I feel very confident that the team will finish within the Top 10 of the West
