If we get a better player for him let him go. The kid ain't that special. Plays ok defense sure. But not good enough that it offsets are terrible he is offensively.
And if we do get a better player, I'll support it
But y'all out here begging for a 2nd rounder. You want me to go over the probability of a 2nd rounder being anything better than a benchwarmer? It's not good, but you'll say, well Frank ain't anything but a benchwarmer, and yeah right now he isn't, but he's literally just a consistent 3 pointer away from being a contributor to a team
If all we're getting back is a 2nd, it's more likely that Frank develops a shot than the 2nd pans out. Not every 2nd is gonna be Mitch or Trier
And y'all keep underselling his defense. It's legitimately really good, not just "ok."
I think this is fair but what really points to Frank having a consistent 3 ball any time soon? He shot 30% on catch and shoot 3's last year. Worse than Mudiay and Vonleh... Realistically he's going to have to get a lot better than that to have a significant role offensively... I guess maybe because he was at 36% his rookie year there's cause for optimism? Then you factor in the injury concerns...IDK Frank really did as much as he could to turn me off of him last year so maybe I'm just terribly biased at this point
His defense is good but if he doesn't improve his jumper (at the very least) he's going to have be Roberson level good to be playable and I just think that while that's a realistic expectation it's not something that's automatically a given either
I agree it's not a given he becomes consistent at all. He does have good form, and it usually takes guys a couple years to adapt, plus he had that shoulder injury for a bit, and if you look at his splits, he had two good months from 3 (around 37%), one bad month (around 32%), and one month where he shot 16%
I'd say it's about a 50/50 shot of him getting consistent, even if we say 30/70, that's still better odds than a guy in the 2nd becoming even a role player. It's like a 24% chance you get a role player or better from a 2nd rounder, really not good. Which isn't the most accurate way to assess the odds, but it's close enough
I trust Perry's decision making and ability to win trades, so I'll accept him trading Frank, I just can't say I'm gonna like it. Who knows though, we might get someone I really like (like Bazley, I'm gonna speak that into existence), and I'll approve. But what do I know, I'm just a sh*tposter on a message board
