He was in the deal to the Magic, apparently is getting bought out.

Whoa. That's something.

He's number one for me now. He looked as quick as ever last night.

Oh. That's kind of bad though? Someone will probably claim him for his full salary before he clears waivers, and the Bucks can't fit his full salary under the tax threshold so they're liable to pass.

:banghead:

Hoping for someone to come in and explain to me why I'm wrong. Come on Luessi, emunney, GAD, whomever...

ETA: That's clearly why Orlando won't buy him out. They don't have to. Why pay him anything when some other team will take them completely off the hook?

Teague would be a huge steal. He’d give us exactly what we need at backup PG. Hope Horst and Bud are working the phones.

I'm sure we'll talk to Teague as will a bunch of teams. And if he goes elsewhere there will be a lot of "**** Horst doesn't know what the **** he's doing".
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Absolutely if he goes anywhere but milwaukee 100% of the blame will be on horst seeing that 90% of this board blames horst for everything even the war in afganistan is his fault lol

Owners have always said they are willing to pay the tax...so let's see it.

Yes, but they've still been remarkably effective at avoiding it. They've done so with incredibly ninja stealth too, always concealing it under a guise of moves that had other plausible explanations. Might be a moot point though, as I assume some other team will claim him before the Bucks do. It goes by reverse order of win percentage.

If he's waived he probably won't have to talk to any teams, he'll just get claimed.

Horst did think DJA was worth more than Teague, though.

What's the over under on Jabari scoring titles in China? I'd say 3.

Does Jimmer play in China? Didn't he score 200 points in one game or something like that?

Yeah he's a Shanghai Sharks legend. Tough competition but I have faith Jabari can outscore him.

If we want Teague couldn't we just offer a super protected future 2nd for him? Like even offer the Houston pick top 55 protected? We could get him via the minimum salary exception.

What assets do we have? It would be ballsy to trade Donte given how he's played so far this year and we don't have a whole lot else other teams would probably value. That being said, this deadline feels very meh to me so I don't feel all that bad right now. Hopefully we get someone who can help a bit off the trash heap and keep gelling as a team. I'd love to get Teague if that's still possible, but whatever. Even Rivers has had some decent games and we wouldn't be asking these guys to do a whole lot. Just please be better than Augustin was.

Was bummed that Fournier got traded instead of bought out.
Then started to get psyched about Teague.
Then read this buzz kill:

Technically he isn't getting bought out. He's just straight up getting waived.

He's on a minimum deal so we could claim him, as could anybody else who wouldn't trigger the hard cap. Salary would be prorated just as if we'd signed him.
