Can we force a euro team to sign him? I’m not sure how this even would work?

Did he hide out in France until Knicks were able to draft him lol

Ok. We're all guessing. Maybe Thibs likes him and thinks he can play some backup minutes. Wtf knows?

Bona

[Sorry: genuine questions since I don't really know anything about any of them] Do you really like any of them? Obviously there's noone there with Mitch's upside. But, are any of them really better prospects than, eg, Simms?

I think Bona and Mogbo are intriguing in their own ways, and would be perfect energy high motor bigs totally unlike Simms

Freeman also screams Knicks culture. Undersized but great wingspan and elite rebounder. Looks like he's adding a 3 ball when he showed up at the combine.

Wow his work out really slipped through the cracks. This is the first I’m hearing of it

Sounds like he's from here, not France

From watching his clips he has some size, but not super athletic or with a quick burst. Can shoot, though has a fall back posture to his form that may work or might need fixing. Wonder if he'll be able to get off the same shots in the NBA. Has some passing ability and is a willing passer which is good. Active off the ball, lots of cuts for easy bucket which is also a good sign. Looks like it will come down to the quality of his handle and ability to create separation on offense.

The real question is had we had a top ten pick would we have sucked it up and paid or would we have selected Topic or someone who could stay in Europe another year?

No, no. Lots of teams in good leagues would want to have him for a years rental, given that (unlike Hayes) he was pretty successful at Ulm. Teams in Spain or the Adriatic league. Or even back in France. Him getting a contract wouldn't be a problem. I don't know how the money is allowed to work if the Knicks wanted him in specific places, but it really shouldn't be too hard.Serious Euro teams want up-coming players too.

perhaps the league office could offer an option to teams not wanting to draft, and for those teams to gain something in exchange instead

Yeah I oddly enough his movements on the court (hair and all) reminds me if Jericho had a semblance of an offensive game and knew how to use his body

I think a few of us called it when the original draft thread was posted. Don't bother doing a single minute of scouting because we aren't drafting anyone.

I used to take joy in laughing at everybody filling this thread with passionate in-depth analysis when it was clear as day that the Knicks were gonna punt.

Now I’ve lost the joy because I’m too happy about Brunson and his crew.

Newslfash from 1991: all Knick draft picks are trade fodder or maaaaaaybe role players.

I think that he he’s trying to keep as much cap space available as possible for this season.

totally

dont know how much it matters
we cant offer I hart more than 16 anyway

I think the free cap space matters more if I-Hart leaves. It means they can sign an MLE player (I-Hart came here on the MLE, so that's not bad).

If he stays, then you're right. The extra cap space won't matter much.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.
