Not putting any protections on those picks was criminal!

That should have been grounds for immediate termination as soon as Jones accepted those conditions! But Jones gets to keep his job because he's an expert "yes man" insulatory shield willing to take the blame for Ishbias' decisions to insulate the owner and Isiah Thomas from any accountability.
Speaking of our pick swaps, I was wondering. What about a KD trade to Washington? Maybe something like:
KD for Smart/ Holmes/ Bey and two of our (1st round) pick swaps back- PHX 26' 1st (swap returned)/ PHX 30' 1st (swap returned). Then Washington could try to sneak into the playoffs to advance their young core competitively. And KD could play at home around his family and maybe retire there too. I'd keep Smart and trade Holmes and Bey to other teams for some 2nds. Not the best package, but it'd at least get some of our pick swaps back. Then if we traded Booker as well to Houston, then we could get back our 25' 1st, 27' 1st, and 29' 1st.
So post-trade, we could end up with something like J Green/ Landale/ Whitmore/ Smart/ Holmes/ Bey/ and.......................
- PHX 25' 1st.
- PHX 26' 1st (swap back).
- PHX 27' 1st.
-????? ..............................
- PHX 29' 1st.
- PHX 2030 1st (pick swap back).
Then we could keep Green and Whitmore and trade Smart, Landale, Holmes, Bey, Allen, and Oneale for young players and draft picks for our rebuild. Maybe trade:
- Marcus Smart to OKC for Caruso/ Wiggins/ DAL 28' 1st (most favorable swap).
- Landale (Keep).
- Holmes to Golden State or Orlando or Philly for a 2nd.
- Bey to Rockets or Blazers for a 2nd.
- Allen to Orlando for a 1st.
- O'neale to San Antonio for multiple 2nds.
= 2 more 1sts and 4-5 2nds. That'd leave us with 7 total firsts and 4-to 5 2nds and a bunch of young low-cost players.
J Green/ Whitmore/ Dunn/ Landale/ Richards.
Caruso/ Wiggins/ Bryant/ Bol Bol / Ighodaro.
Larrea/ Brea/ Whitmore/ Brazile / Beringer.
DRAFT PICKS 25' PHX 1st (12th pick)*** Trade down with Brooklyn for the 19th and 24th picks!
19- Sergio de Larrea. 6'7 point guard.
24- Carter Bryant. 6'8 power wing mix of Richard Jefferson/ Sean Elliot.
29- Jo'an Beringer. 6'10 rim running Ware/ Missi archtype center.
