Re: Around the League
At least the Hawks know when to blow it up and realistically gauge their ceiling as a whole with the current players.
Whereas with the way we've been playing, it's all been "weather the storm" type nonsense. Not that I wholly disagree with that considering our young guys, but it sure is fun town over in ATL though. I just don't see this group ever maturing into a contender.

Obvious great move for Cleveland. Should be interesting to see where Dunleavy winds ups.
The one thing that confuses me is why does Atlanta have to take back Williams? Korver is better then Mike statistically. Basically Atlanta is helping Cleveland by giving them a better player and clearing a roster spot for Cleveland to bring in Chalmers, Cole, or whoever.
All this for a 1st round pick. woo-hoo?
Korver doesn't have a ton of value. His season is pretty underwhelming and is a 35 year old perimeter player. A first round pick coming back seems about right, even if it's going to be a late first round pick. Sounds like the Hawks are doing him a favor too though by giving him away to a contender.
Will be really interesting to see what kind of return Millsap gets. He's opting out this summer and will get a fat contract even at the age of 32. I'd like to see him in Toronto so Cleveland doesn't steamroll through the playoffs.
More of my focus was on the fact that they get;
Dunleavy, who is declining down hard and Williams, who basically just wanted his money. In exchange for Korver (who i honestly thought was 31) who is still good for about 10 pts per game in 27-28 minutes. Having Lebron to play off should increase his numbers. Even though hes only a rental, I'd still say Cleveland got him cheap.

Re: Around the League
Hawks are currently in the 4th seed too. They've been playing well lately, and maybe the Korver trade won't impact them much. They got some young talent that can offset that loss somewhat. Horford, Teague and Korver were all stars two seasons ago, and Carroll was a key player. ATL has remained competitive despite losing some solid players. I don't expect them to drop off much unless they make more deals.
I think it absolutely helps the Cavs. Korver is a savvy vet that gives them yet another weapon in the playoffs. He'll do well for them, and I think will make a big impact come playoff time.

Hawks aren't good and they're also looking to move Milsap. They won't be the 4th seed any longer and will likely tank.

I don't think Dwight has ruined the Hawks - if anything he's become the piece to build around the next 3 years
Millsap & Korver the last keys to the Horford/Teague teams so they'll move on while Bud keeps chugging along
It's a credit to their guys and organization that they've moved Teague, Horford & Carroll and haven't missed a beat

Apparently Cavs give a protected first, Mo Williams & Dunleavy...so nothing of note!
The Pistons didn't have anything comparable to offer. The Cavaliers are loaded and all but guaranteed to have the 29th or 30th pick. That pick is still worth something, but losing it doesn't hurt them. The Pistons, on the other hand, cannot afford to give up a first-round pick, and had nothing of equivalent value to present.
Hawks get expirings for a 2019 first! That's terrible news for us (what are we gonna get for Baynes?)

As for Baynes, he's worth next to nothing. Korver is still an excellent spot-up shooter. Baynes has had a terrible season and may be the 3rd-string center by the time he returns.

how do you excuse dre's sh* season but act like baynes has already been bad, HE was one of the better backup centers last season and like everyone else on our team been inconsistent . double standard

Objectively speaking, Drummond is not having a "**** season." At all. Relative to his performance of last season, his level of play is not very good; but by the absolute standard of the NBA at large, his performance still places him among the top ten centers in the league. The notion that he's playing terribly has no basis in reality.
If you really believe that Drummond's regression from last season means that he's having a terrible season, then I understand why you want him traded. But I think your logic is very poor.
As for Baynes, he has been awful. He was upper-middle among backup centers last season, but he has not played nearly so well this season. His play has most assuredly declined drastically more than Drummond's; and while Drummond, in his current slump, is still a hugely formidable presence on the court, Baynes in his own slump is invisible when he's not fouling the opposition or turning over the ball.

They are all clearly superior players than Dre. And I think there are a lot of players beside these guys who can discuss Dre.
Dre's becoming more and more a empty stats player, just like Monroe or many other guys around the league.
I mean, Steven Adams provides a lot of things can't be measured by any existent stats.

We've really never seen him in a head to head matchup with any of these guys in a series, which truly defines who is better, that being said Dre doesn't bring it everyday

objectively if your paying a player max money, you expect improvement rather than regression .
At all. Relative to his performance of last season, his level of play is not very good; but by the absolute standard of the NBA at large, his performance still places him among the top ten centers in the league. The notion that he's playing terribly has no basis in reality.
our max player is playing just to "THE STANDARD" or "average" of the NBA but you don't think he's playing terribly. objectively speaking.
If you really believe that Drummond's regression from last season means that he's having a terrible season, then I understand why you want him traded. But I think your logic is very poor.
you develop a opinion based on your logic
you assume your right
you think your own logic is poor
There are a number of reasons why i think Dre should be traded, but debates with you apparently turn into some tanget sh* discussion and really not interested.
As for Baynes, he has been awful. He was upper-middle among backup centers last season, but he has not played nearly so well this season. again, excuse Dre but judge baynes. The fact that you think that is all baynes does reassures me that we'll just agree to disagree.

Re: Around the League
Being a max player comes with different expectations, both in terms of production & professionalism as someone who is suppose to be the marquee player of this team. The criticism he's gotten, outside of game threads at least, is mostly warranted.

Re: Around the League
Was watching a live video story on instagram that Drummond put up. Stanley was on the court actually practicing. Shooting 3's. Drummond was clowning around like a 16 year old on sidelines. Then went to half court and jacked up shot from there. Sad

Bizarre stuff playing out in New York.
Derrick Rose didn't show up for a game and nobody can get a hold of him.

Re: Around the League
Rose was apparently upset yesterday after getting bench and him and Hornacek got into an argument after the game. Now he just doesn't show up to the game, without telling anyone anything.
Very strange.
They're saying now he has been in contact with team officials.
edit, told the team it was a family situation

Re: Around the League
Sounds like he didn't contact the Knicks until after their game, and then said it was an emergency family situation.
Very bizzare, it only takes a few seconds to send a text to a team official.
Also the way his teammates are talking about it makes me think there is a lot going on behind the scenes for Rose.
I feel bad for him, must be extremely tough to go from a 22 yr old MVP to borderline starter because of injuries. The steep decline of his career coupled with that court case he had in the offseason,(exposing his private life) would be difficult for anyone to experience.

He's rich, famous and plays a sport for a living but I can't help but agree. Everything has changed for him so drastically...it feels like DRose already retired a while. The player on the Knicks right now is very very different.

Re: Around the League
With Rose, and from what Bulls fans tell me, he's really really dumb. Like the entire "he's quiet and humble" thing is more along the fact that he's just dumb and doesn't know how to articulate meanings and nuances well.
Which coincides with the fact that he just left the team to dry on that one night.

Rose is terrible anyway, if I was a Knicks fan I would want him to take more time off.
