improper wrote:Right, but I think a lot of that is that he gets the benefit of the best booking. They weren't holding Cena back at the expense of the top guys because Cena was the top guy. Yeah, he can work, but booking matters. Most of why Rousey looks as good as she does is because they're perfectly willing to work around her weaknesses in a way they don't bother to with most performers. Reigns got the same benefits, although he was so limited in the ring that it was really hard to hide it in longer matches.

Cena has also had to deal with a lot of bad booking, which is a big part of why his reputation as a wrestler has been poor. He didn't get a lot of the credit he deserved because he was always booked to win the main event, which made fans resentful.

Sorry, but being booked to win all the time isn't bad booking.

I think you're confusing bad booking with tone deaf booking. Cena had great booking. The problem was it was tone deaf. The fans got sick of him winning all the time, and WWE failed to pivot. They made the exact same mistake with Roman Reigns, and they're dangerously close to doing the same with Charlotte (although at least she delivers on basically all her matches).

Yeah if you ignore your fans and push a guy against popular support (as a face) then you're messing up big time. its why i can't buy Cena being anywhere near the GOAT conversation, he was pushed beyond belief and given more opportunities than Hogan, The Rock and Stone Cold combined. I mean he did draw with children and women but basically anyone draws with children if they're booked strongly enough.

Spoiler:
Meltzer is saying Kofi is the favorite to face Daniel Bryan at Fastlane. I'd prefer if they did Bryan/Harper/Rowan vs New Day with the stipulation if New Day wins Kofi gets a shot at WrestleMania.

Everyone knows they're not gonna do a title change at Fastlane.

I don't understand why everyone wants to turn Daniel Bryan into Bray Wyatt. Give poor Luke Harper a break.

Luke Harper is too good to not be on TV, and the most likely way he's gonna be on TV is with Erick Rowan.

He's too good to be someone else's muscle his entire career!

Daniel Bryan isn't even a cult leader, he's just a dude.

He's never gonna get a singles push unfortunately, being someone's muscle isn't a bad thing.

And I'd say this Daniel Bryan is already a cult leader. Why else would Erick Rowan be following him?

That's a very strange definition of cult leader. Has every wrestler with muscle been a cult leader?

As far as we know, they share political beliefs. We're to believe that Rowan is an intellectual type and Bryan, feeling alienated from the rest of locker room, developed a friendship with him.

An angle I'd love:

A bunch of NXT guys come up and coincidentally use moves that belong to a WWE veteran. WWE veteran attacks them individually for using his move without asking.

I love how aggressive and non-diva Mandy's movesets are. Very contradicting to her look. She's a believable threat and add Sonya backing her up and she'd be a main event regular.

Nice win as well, didn't make Asuka look weak.
