Considering Dybantsa just got suspended for a half after swearing in practice, it's still around. Now, would they do that prior to a big game, who knows.
I remember when the Packers took Jamaal Williams and it was a potential red flag that he got suspended a year at BYU for having a girl in his room.
Now BYU and the Mormons have endless money, but I'd much rather be a rich athlete at typical P4 school than BYU, if I wasn't already a Mormon.
There's some stuff that happened with Dybsanta's recruitment. He played his last year for this Utah startup prep school that his dad got a piece of that wants to be the IMG of that great West region. And based on what I've read the school starting up wasn't entirely about trying to funnel Dybsanta to BYU, I think those aspirations to be the IMG of this region are genuine, but I think they saw funneling him to BYU as making it much easier to realize those aspirations.
In the pre-NIL era it would be a huge story, but we all kinda know what's going on now so it barely makes a ripple.
