9-2 in Jan....best in the league.

I fear they are going to pound the inside vs us all night.

If we did fluke out a win, hope they stay hot with Celticks, Knicks, Cavs and 76ers games coming up for them the next 2 weeks.

We are currently against the Sixers in the first round. With the way Embiid is looking right, we need to avoid that matchup at all costs.

Yeah, I hear you. There have been some opportunities in the past couple seasons which would have been nice if we'd actually committed to it.

We knew this already. That’s why we had to trade him. The kawhi deal was a steal even if only for a year we had to make that move because we were never gonna get over the hump with demar, even with LeBron out of the east. And the mentality that “omg LeBron’s gone now, we have a chance” that demar talks about after he was traded is exactly why we could never win with him. To be the best you have to beat the best. And I wholeheartedly believe that even if LeBron had stayed in the east, we would’ve destroyed him with kawhi instead of demar.

Imagine that Cleveland series where LeBron had no kyrie and we were number 1 seed, if we had kawhi instead of demar? We win the championship that year.

I wish in the background of videos playing in background, they'd shown Lebron misses and not getting back on D, rather than dunks

Brooks gets into all kinds of altercations with Derozan but he's not wrong on this one.

Still will be a hall of famer. 26,000 points

We all know Kawhi is better than DD. But a relative scrub like Brooks criticizing a Hall of Famer rubs me the wrong way. 16th season, still playing 35 mpg, still producing.
Derozan spent nine seasons with the Raptors, where he became the franchise's all-time leading scorer and led the team to five playoff runs. He was traded to the San Antonio Spurs in the summer of 2018 and the Chicago Bulls in 2021. He was traded to the Sacramento Kings in the summer of 2024. DeRozan won a gold medal with the United States national team in the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics. He is considered one of the best scorers and midrange shooters in NBA history.]

Finalist for clutch player of the year, last two years. Although as I type this he fumbled a ball out of bounds. :D

I mean we’re fans and we have no basketball qualifications whatsoever that doesn’t mean we can’t recognize the facts. Dillon brooks is a Toronto kid, I’m sure he was a raptors fan growing up. He sees the same things we saw, he’s allowed to have that opinion. Has nothing to do with what he’s done on the floor.

He can have that opinion without saying it in a podcast. That's disrespectful imo

Maybe. But These dudes are all over the internet gossiping like school girls on their own podcasts. Derozan was just on a podcast with Paul George saying “there’s a lot of sorry **** in the league.” He’s not above the criticism. If you can dish it you have to be able to take it.

Brooks' entire brand is to be as disrespectful as possible. I tried to listen to his POV about losing to LeBron, but how can you take it seriously when he talked **** to LeBron as a 2 seed and got bounced by LeBron as a 7 seed

It's all fun and games at the end of the day, and Dillon's trash talk isn't keeping DeMar from the hall of fame.

Yup. It would sort of remind me of the nets vs raptors series in 2014 the refs won't be fair with us either. Maxey will cook and their vets and shooters will thrive plus embiid if healthy will get away with a lot. I'd avoid that Match up. On the other side, I bet they try to face us in first round you can be sure about that.

Brooks has been a winner and culture setter everywhere he's been. His personality rubs a lot of people the wrong way, but I have respect and a soft spot for him as a Canadian.

Return to Toronto Raptors
