So let me ask you BB players. I know that some games it feels like you can make any shot, and others you just know you’re going to miss. When you feel you’re going to miss, is the correct play to pass? Or is it to shoot anyway, and learn to get comfortable?

The problem with increasing Towns shot volume is that when Edwards is playing there isn't usually a need for more attempts, and when Edwards is out the defense is game planning to limit Karl's shot opportunities. What the team really needs is for guys to make open shots.

IT depends on what the flow of the game is. Yes, if I am not feeling confident in my shot, I will look for the extra pass, but if the defender gets a sense of me not taking shots, it will cut down on the passing lanes. Really, you can shoot yourself out of a slump, but do it judiciously.

I agree and disagree ! IT depends on the players, If they choose good shoot, the % will not down. Mike is a good example who can shoot 6 or 7 per night and stay at 40% up for the last 2 years. What make me annoyed sometimes with KAT is that :

- Sometines he got open shoot he don't take and instead go to fight under the Rim where REfs are not nice with him resulting at offensive fouls. This is something he need to improve. Once he did, he will be a top 5-10 players considering how he improve in defense.

Was this the quietest 21-17 you have ever seen? People say KAT has lost something or sacrificed things to make this team work. I still think Karl is an all star, defending at a career best very high level, and crazy efficient shooting.

Actually not really what people say. This is what Finch and KAT both say. Hard to disagree....

I'd like to see more volume. I don't mind a drop in efficiency, that said it has to be the right volume. More threes and jump shots not more contested drives in traffic.

I think a better way for me to have phrased it, Karl might not have the shot volume or the top line numbers he could have, but he is still one hell of a player. His numbers are still really freaking good consider the shots Ant takes and the boards Rudy takes. KAT is playing at an all star level for the best team in the NBA.

KAT is 100% proving me wrong and making me eat crow.

My biggest gripes with him were whining and his defense...and to his credit so far he's improved on those. Night and day difference.

Sacrifice shouldn't be portrayed as a bad thing. Every great team (superteam, if you will) has guys who have made sacrifices.

Its crazy how some of the Wolves related media guys say so much bs regarding KAT. They could have maybe pointed out some of KAT's flaws on-court but instead say some made up bs. KAT never was even a selfish player (infact some of our complaints were that he was playing way too unselfishly) and never even acted like Wolves have to be his team..he was always ready to be No2 to Ant even before this season season but some of these idiots are acting as if it only changed in the last month. One thing about KAT is that he always has been a great teammate.

Yup. He has always been well liked, especially off the court. He is a genuine person, big jokester and fun to be around. Unfortunately a lot of that has been who he was on the court, and that led to him not being taken seriously as a competitor.

I said before this year over on the PC Board that Towns will buy into a "Pau Gasol" type role this year, and that is how the Timberwolves will be maximized, and he has done exactly that.

Great post. Zulgad is one of the worst, but many people, even local Wolves media, have continually claimed they knew what was going on in Towns mind, and made up untrue conclusions to justify their bias.

I never do this, but last week I suggested that Flagrant Howls stop airing guys like Zulgad who don’t really follow the Wolves when they have better options like Kyle Tighe. Mackey has been as bad as Zulgad for years, and having them both on the pod was so hard to listen to that I broke down and sent an email. Or maybe it’s just me, starting my change to “grumpy old man?”

I never listen at any follower, insider.... too much garbage for me there. Old grumpy style. However i mostly watch the game twice and the second time look more at players attitude , body language..... for me, KAT is the biggest improvment of the team this year.
I never have doubt that Mike will be important, He is too professional and have 2 or 3 years left in the tank,. I never have doubt about Rudy as i knew he was beeing okay once he is physically 100%. I never have doubt about ANT, so much talent can only explode one day.

I have fair amount of doubt for KAT, his capacity to avoid stupid fouls, to stop complaining at the refs, to improve in defense..... i was wrong. It's not perfect but the improvment is so huge that he is for me the best player right now. Stat don't show that but it does not matter, KAT is now a very complete player, All star level. I'm excited to watch the game against Embiid tomorrow.

Good thing Towns doesn't have to guard Embiid :D Really, it will be interesting to see if we go with Gobert as the free safety and put Towns on Embiid tonight.

I would assume Gobert goes on Embiid because the Sixers don't really attack the basket. They like to spread the floor and give Embiid space. My guess is Gobert tries to limit Joel to long jumpers and keep the MVP off the glass while Jaden, Ant, NAW and KAT try and keep the Sixers from getting clean looks from three.

It will be one of the those contain Joel as best as you can and don't let anyone else go off. Lock down Maxey like they did at Target Center.

i never understood why people take them seriously when you can just listen to towns when he speaks. he's never been one to really hold his tongue, and there's never been a word from him about feeling uneasy with a change in roles.
