INB4 "LilJLin"...

This, Linsanity, the Clippers being a playoff threat, and Stern blocking the trade, all combine to make me take a second look at the Mayan calendar... With much less skepticism...

Raptors blew it. Barbosa is an idiot...had like 2 turnovers in 2 possessions where they could have tied it.

No wonder they have only won 9 games this season.

I'm not impressed by the rest of this league. If the Lakers can play 5-5 (acquire two decent players) everything changes.

Every game i see now is one team wearing some alternative jersey at home and making the away team look like the home team. NBA needs to get ride of this crap, it looks horrible. Likely won't since its about $

I remember a game at the MSG in which Kobe had 61 and Pau 31.No overtime either
That's 92

Or the 81 point game.Kobe 81,Smush 13
That's 94

Crazy but happened before

We should have a thread for random Lakers-related thoughts.

I just learned that Demarcus Cousins shoots better than Kobe on midrange shots 15+ft out, wtf??

Interesting stuff about the Lakers. You can skip the first three paragraphs before it gets to the actually interesting stuff.

No. The point differential gives a better prediction. Which is completely understandble, because a team plays usually as their usual pace. The efficiency differential would be just adjusting that to a pace of 100. Well, it is more likely that a team with pace 92 plays the next game at that pace than playing now the upcoming games at a pace 100.

And I think you have the SOS backwards. The average SRS of the opponents for the last 6 games was -1.54. The Heat had a MOV of 17.67, that makes a SRS of 16.13 without the adjustment for HCA during those 6 games. Now, the HCA would push that to 18.26, given the fact that they played 5 on the road and only one at home. Very impressive stretch.

^ in reference to miami's last few games.
