Odd that Wiretap says Philly wants to include Harris in a Simmons trade - as they think that will help them get a better player in return. Given how over-paid Harris is, I don't see that happening. But going along with it, Beal, Kuzma, and Bertans for Simmons and Harris works in the Trade Checker. Philly adds in their 2023 1st. I recall Harris being very supportive of Simmons, fwiw.

Lets go big. Philly wants a star, but wants to maintain cap space for a possible Harden bid.
Simmons, Harris, Korkmaz, Springer, Bassey, 2022 & 2024 1st
for
Beal, KCP, Kuz, Harrell, Holiday
- Send Kuz to a third team for an expiring contract.

Philly goes all in on Beal, knowing if he chooses to walk they have 45M in cap space for Harden. I have a hard time seeing Beal walking AND Harden not signing there.

Move Simmons to a third team for future picks.
Dinwiddie / Springer / Ayayi
Kispert / Korkmaz
Rui / Deni
Harris / Bertans / Todd
Gafford / Bryant / Bassey

This keeps our time entertaining and young, while we look to ship off Dinwiddie, Harris, and Bertans over the next couple years if a good offer comes along.
We'd have 4-5 additional 1st to help with the rebuild.

Yeah, it significantly reduces the universe of teams who could possibly meet their asking price.

Your trade works fine. Throw in a Harrell for Drummond swap to get the salaries to match evenly and keep us out of the luxtax. If we flipped Simmons to Sacramento for Haliburton, picks and filler, we'd be in good shape. Harris would be a bit of a cap albatross, but he's not a bad player, and his contract is shorter than Bertans'.

I sure hope we aren't trading for Grant. Good Lord!

It almost doesn't matter what "this trade" was in the post to which nate was responding: "Beal straight up for Simmons" is by far the best move we could make. & if we really did get a R1 pick too, or another promising young player for that matter, it would be gravy.

Shouldn't including Harris with Simmons bring the price down?

Maybe they will take our collection of (overpaid, to varying degrees) role players for those two - Dinwiddie, Bertans, Kuzma, Harrell, etc. - for Harris and Simmons.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

What exactly do you expect to get in return for Simmons + Harris?

It really doesn't make sense to me to bundle the two but if you told me this happened and to guess the return, I would say it's to Sacramento for Fox/Barnes/Hield.

Sounds like Morey is trying to get his Star one way or another. They'll trade both for contributors, pick(s), expirings.

Then go into the Summer with cap space and hope that 1 of Beal, Lavine, Irving, or Harden want to team with Embiid. So then they get their star, plus all the assets from the Simmons trade.
Not a bad plan to maximize value, but you essentially punt this year while also risking that you dont land a star this summer.

Why trade Beal and kuzma for Ben? Who’s going to score?
Pay your beals....or its lights out!!!
Bron, Bosh, Wade is like Mike, Hakeem, barkley...3 top 5 picks from same draft
mike, hakeem and Barkley on the same team!!!!

Ideally:
Kuzma for Derrick White.
or
Kuzma for Coby White, DJones Jr + POR 1st (Lottery Protected).

Other (less preferable) iterations: Bryant + Rui for Derrick White or Rui for Coby White.

I'd definitely trade Kuzma for Derrick White. That's an absolute talent upgrade.

I'd do the second deal for the Portland pick more so than for Coby White. But if we are trading current pieces for the future, we should also be thinking hard about trading Beal.

White isn’t an upgrade over kuzma

That would be a pretty good haul, but I don't know if Sacramento would do it. It sounds like they consider Fox for Simmons to be pretty fair as a straight up trade, so I'm not seeing them incorporate a Barnes + Hield for Harris component, but maybe I'm wrong.

We would flip Ben for picks/prospects, tank and rebuild.

If we do acquire Simmons, why would we flip him? ...I guess we'd be committing to a rebuild, right?

Just one man's opinion of course but I think we would agree that Haliburton > Fox and Bobby Marks said:

Trade we would like to see: Haliburton, Harrison Barnes, Thompson and two first-round picks (top-six protected in each season) to Philadelphia for Ben Simmons, Shake Milton and Charles Bassey.

I've seen very disparate opinions on value from Kings fans and NBA media types (more so then we would normally see since we all see value through our own team's lens to some extent) on Fox/Haliburton. Doesn't mean they're automatically wrong, but I'm legit curious as to what the league really thinks.

Deni and Kuzma should be borderline untradeable,
Why trade beal? We jus now got back one of starting players from last year we’ve haven’t played with a full strength team yet and we’re still competing better than expected…
I want to see Beal and kuzma with Bryant and Harrell on the floor

Isn’t kuzma a prospect?
And other than Portland what team sees Ben worth more than Beal?

We could keep Simmons, but if we can get a player like Haliburton plus Sacto's 2022 first rounder, I think that would be preferable. And a trade with Sacto could include getting a bunch of expiring contracts and give us flexibility in free agency or - as nate suggested earlier - to get picks in trades where we're acquiring other teams' bad contracts.

The answer to your first question is yes and the second question is helllllllllllllllllllll no.

In any case it's irrelevant, as that would leave us with 3 guys (Beal, Simmons, Harris) at $115m.

Not to mention that in any case it's proving hard to trade Simmons. How does it get easier if you package in any extraordinarily expensive, extraordinarily over-paid additional player?

Answer: it doesn't.
