teams would be foolish to guarantee him very much.
Teams do foolish things all the time, like giving Gerorge Hill a 2 yr deal.
Huh? That's a good thing, we need him as trade filler.

Isn't Montrezl Harrell going to the slammer?

I very much doubt that, but I have no interest in him completely independent of that situation.

I remember Nets fans hating James Johnson last year. His skillset and no nonsense personality would be a great fit here, I just wonder if he has anything left in the tank.

We need a longer term option. The age gap there is obviously huge. Hartenstein can also switch and hold his own on the perimeter while also offering sound rim protection so you're not pigeonholing yourself into a drop only scheme. Far more flexibility.

I agree we need to get younger, I'm actually for trading Brook for a younger/better fit type of an asset.

Snell on a min would be nice. I am not sure what Ingles has left but I feel like him and Giannis could revive the old mans career.

JJ's cooked. Turns 36 in February, can't shoot anymore, and from what I last saw shouldn't ever be expected to switch onto guards or quicker wings unless you want him to get torched. Plenty of better options out there.

Could Amir Coffey be a sneaky candidate for a multi-year tax MLE deal? Really liked him for the Clippers and I doubt they will match especially if they get Noel.

I feel like we could do better than all these guys. Even on vet mins.

Amir Coffey could be interesting

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - Pat Opts In
Been playing around with the trade machine. Trying to see what I can come up with to add another significant piece with the Lopez/Hill/Allen package. My question is this.
Would anyone here be willing to buy low on Simmons if Brooklyn decides to go scorched earth on a rebuild? Came up with an interesting scenario to help facilitate the Lakers/Kyrie deal.
Nets trade
Kyrie Irving
Ben Simmons
Joe Harris
Nets receive
Talen Horton Tucker
Russell Westbrook
George Hill
Luca Vildoza
Rayjon Tucker
2025 LA pick swap
2026 LA FRP
2027 LA pick swap
2028 LA FRP
2029 MKE FRP
Brooklyn could either do what Houston did with Wall and buy him out for the TPMLE or keep him and give him all the usage with the hopes of flipping him again at the deadline. Given his $47 mil salary I’d think it would be the former. Same for Hill who I’d assume theyd but out for the value of the vet min (1.7 I wanna say?). Financially this takes 30 million off their payroll today (not counting any buyouts) with about 60 coming off the books after this season. They can now trade Durant to the highest bidder and become the favorites in the Wembo sweepstakes.
LA trades
Talen Horton Tucker
Austin Reaves
Stanley Johnson
Wenyen Gabriel
2025 Pick swap rights
2026 FRP
2027 Pick swap rights
2028 FRP
LA receives
Kyrie Irving
Brook Lopez
Joe Harris
Grayson Allen
Rayjon Tucker
LA goes all in on Lebron’s last stand with Kyrie. If healthy
MKE trades
2029 FRP (maybe protected?)
Brook Lopez
Grayson Allen
George Hill
Rayjon Tucker
Luca Vildoza
MKE receives
Ben Simmons
Stanley Johnson
Austin Reaves
Simmons right now is obviously an enigma but that’s quite a talent to add to your big 3. I would try to sign Bamba for the TPMLE to eat up center minutes as another young buy low freak athlete.
I’d see Simmons as an Uber sixth man for the team playing 30 minutes a game all over the lineup. Having that pressure lifted off of him might do wonders for his psyche. On offense he can run it as a true point and defensively he can matchup in some cases 1-5. I assume we bring back Bobby and Jevon as Horst alluded to. Reaves can replace some of the Allen minutes and it gives Pat a bigger role and Johnson can be a decent wing defender in the right situation while Marjon develops. Wes back at the Vet min.
Bamba
Giannis
Middleton
Connaughton
Holiday
Bench rotation: Simmons, Portis, Matthews, Reaves, Carter, Johnson
Developmental guys: Sandro, Marjon
Cheerleader: Thanasis
Probably look to add a vet ring chaser or two. (Looking at you, Thad Young.

I like the idea. I'm a sucker for Simmons' game though, when it, ya know, actually exists.
Super super thin at guard though unless you buy Carter and Reaves as playoff playable, which I really don't.
Edit: Also, that is one massive tax bill that I can't see them paying.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - Pat Opts In
If I make that deal then Simmons starts at pg, Jrue becomes my sg and the defense on this team is insane.
Simmons-Jrue-Middleton-Giannis-Bamba or Portis
That would be the best defense in the league. The spacing is a little off, but I don't care. As long as Simmons is 100% healthy I take it.
