I have the 2008 Finals on DVD somewhere, and this video made me want to watch it again. That will be my personal preseason.

Watching Tatum going at Brown in 5 on 5 was pretty cool. Brown was all over him and yet Tatum made it look easy.

Hearing Marcus rave about Pritchard reminds me of Butler last preseason talking about Herro. Hope it’s a legit impression.

There used to be a video of that same thing, but it was taken by a fan from the stands. I used to watch it a lot, but it got taken down. It was so good because you really got a sense of how excited the fans were, especially when Ray Allen and KG were announced for the first time, and then everyone lost their **** when Pierce came out. I miss that team........yes, even Ray.

No to Hezonja. Whenever I watch him play, he seems to make the dumbest of dumb mistakes/decisions on the court. If he was a really good shooter and a decent defender, I could maybe ignore the dumb and take a chance but he's a career 32% shooter from 3 w/ a TS% career-high that would make Marcus Smart blush.

Javonte could do better than Mario in whatever role anyone envisions for him.

The purpose behind this post is not to bash Stevens or Smart. Both bleed green and mean a lot to this team.

A younger Jaylen was frequently pulled for any defensive miscue. Same with Time Lord.

Ojeleye and even Marcus can brick numerous 3's without repercussion. I have seen more than a few leads slip away. When easy scores followed these unaccountable bricks.

Why the discrepancy?

Missing a jumpshot is hardly an offensive mistake. A good defense needs all five players working in unison, and if you can't trust a player to be in the right spot, the defense falls apart. An offense doesn't need all five players to gel perfectly in the same way. If Jaylen Brown falls asleep on defense and lets his guy cut behind him for an uncontested layup, that's a lot worse than if Jaylen Brown is on offense and doesn't cut to the hoop at the right time.

Ojeleye hardly plays, and it's because he's so limited offensively. I don't think he's a good player to cite for this.

Our offense while Kemba is out and whenever Tatum sits is gonna be interesting.

Not a lot of times it happened last season (only 417 possessions), 'cos I think we were aware how bad it could get... but when all three of Hayward/Kemba/Tatum were OFF the floor, Celtics only scored 101.0 pts per 100 possessions. Good for 5th percentile. Eek.

We can't afford more injuries to our starting lineup.

Tristan really being into the scrimmage he's not playing in is such a good sign. That guy seems to love it here. He says all the right things. I really like what he has done so far.
