Cap relief for two 2nd apron teams while we nudge in and take the distressed asset plus a prospect who's shown some flashes.

Peyton Watson is the prize here, I’m all over that. Not sure Minnesota wants to dump McDaniels for Kuzma tho. Those picks in 2031 probably aren’t helping them get over the hump they’re stuck at right now. Kuzma forsure ain’t helping that either. Maybe they make a panic move, Vegas has GSW at best odds to land Naz Reid on the market so they’ll need a replacement if that happens.

Minnesota is one of like 3-4 teams that's gonna be desperate to shed salary and get under the 2nd apron for this very reason (re-signing Naz). Randle already kinda has them over a barrel depending on what he does with his player option. I'm sure they could dump Donte or maybe even Conley into some team's MLE (maybe us?), but McDaniels is the only guy that's gonna get them a legit asset.

I agree with what you’re saying, I’m just not sure Kuzma and that 2031 1st from Denver will be nearly enough in terms of “legit asset(s)” to pry McDaniels away. Maybe tho, would be a home run trade for Milwaukee and Denver. I love Peyton Watson’s game, he’s a sleeper ready to break out. Don’t care much for Porter jr. but he’d also bring offense we could definitely use next season.

This deal doesn’t help Minnesota duck the apron, though. Since the apron factors in unlikely incentives, they would actually slightly gain salary.

I don’t understand the motivation here from their perspective.

Maybe KD can force his way to Milwaukee? Of course Shams puts out a report that KD and Giannis have talked about teaming up in Toronto so maybe KD forcing his way to Milwaukee can be a thing. If the national media can constantly get away with making **** up, so can I! KD to Milwaukee confirmed - my sources.

Guys - that’s a fake report from a fake page. Look closely.

I tried to come up with something around us, Denver, and Phoenix in the event they (DEN) go the Durant route, but with both being 2nd apron teams, there's just too many logistical hurdles with us taking back too much bad money. I still like the idea of facilitating a Cam Johnson to Denver trade with us getting MPJ though. Golden State still seems like the perfect Brook sign and trade destination, and Moody slots in nicely. If Bobby opts in (fingers crossed) and Trent only ends up commanding that $8-10 million salary range like Jim O. posited in the AMA, then this roster at least gives you some upside going forward without trading any more draft assets:

KPJ/Rollins
Trent/Green/AJJ
MPJ/Moody/???
Giannis/Tyler Smith
Bobby/Sims/???

You're still a legit backup (or starting) PG and playable rotation big short of a full playoff roster, but it's a start.

DPOY Giannis?

Rollins / Ajax / KPJ become impact defenders?

Ajax wouldn’t see the floor. He’s terrible.

AJAX would be a Thibs favorite. Look at what he did to players like Noah, Asik in Chicago.....Dieng, Kris Dunn in Minnesota....McBride or Robinson in NY. If there is one thing Thibs is good at it's taking a guy who is above average (or better on defense) and making sure they maximize their skills.

What I would worry about with Thibs, especially with most of our roster, is by playoff time the roster would be on IR. If we thought injuries were a problem before...Thibs would run this roster into the ground. We would have to completely overhaul the roster except for Andre Jackson, Green, KPJ, and Giannis. That might not be a bad thing.

But if there is one thing I wouldn't worry about with Thibs as coach it's players like Andre Jackson.

Thibs plays his guys 40 minutes a night because he hates watching bad basketball players. AJAX would never play, because he is a bad basketball player. He’s one of the worst players in the league.

You guys need to stop repeating stuff from fake accounts. As Dano pointed out, completely fake account.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

If Jaden McDaniels could be had in something resembling your scenario (Kuzma + cap relief + 2031 first) might we just go get him for ourselves?

Absorbing Donte or Conley is another interesting prospect to consider if we could pull it off.

The Toronto stuff might be the dumbest "rumor" cycle I've seen in recent memory. They don't have the assets, and they don't have the contending supporting cast to put around him (Giannis). Just 100% rumor recycling based on that hilarious "Masai and Giannis are friends" thing from 5-years ago. He's been linked to every team imaginable at this point (OKC, Houston, Brooklyn, Pelicans, Lakers, Miami), so now they're just circling back to the favorite targets from 2020 in the Raptors and Knicks, despite making even less sense now because those teams have absolutely nothing of intrigue to offer. Further proof that NBA casuals are the dumbest fans in all of pro sports. One tweet from a fake Twitter account and amplified by an ESPN talking head, and all of a sudden these other poverty franchises' fans think they're in "the driver's seat" for Giannis with whatever wet turd assets they can cobble together.

Dame For Grant and Deni

They shed a year of both players and return native son for two guys unlikely to be part of any future success.

We take on Grant’s albatross long term, but get two useful players and below first apron.

Call me crazy and I do like McDaniels a good bit, but I’d rather take MPJ and Watson in the scenario Ron laid out..

Deni is worth multiple 1sts, but I'd pay this to make it happen. Grant's knee has ruined him, but he wouldn't have much of a role, if any. Sending Dame home for rehab would be doing him a real solid.

Going to flesh out idea from previous page.

Dame for Grant and Deni

Bobby (opts in) and Kuzma for Reaves, Vanderbilt, Vincent

AJJ for Jay Huff

Resign KPJ, Sims, Rollins

Guards:
Reaves
KPJ
Green
Rollins
Vincent

Wings:
Deni
Grant
Pat

Bigs:
Giannis
Vanderbilt
Sims
Huff

A lot more versatility on that roster. Some upside. Locks us into some lousy long term paper.
Please reconsider your animal consumption.
