Favorite TV show?

Post#1 » by Miklo » Sun Apr 4, 2010 11:17 pm

I need to find a show to go back and watch all of, because I am just finishing the final season of The Wire. I'm up for really any kind of show...I've already recently watched The Wire, The Office, How I Met Your Mother and am looking for like I said any genre, just a show that would be good for watching all episodes/seasons at once.

Lost. It's almost over too. If you like sci-fi, you'll probably catch up to the current season if you started today. Me and my wife finished a season a week over the summer and had to wait for the last season to come out... But if you're not into sci fi kind of stuff, you won't like it at all

Battlestar Galactica is #1 for me. Best TV show I've watched. You don't have to like sci-fi to like it. Heck, I thought I was going to hate it because it sounded like some sort of cheesy cartoon with robots or something...but it's an absolutely amazing series about what it means to be human, essentially.

Firefly is also a great series you can finish in, heck, a day. Only 13 episodes before it was unjustly canceled. Really fantastic series.

Deadwood: do yourself a favor and WATCH IT!

Current shows:
Dexter is a fantastic show to get into. Every season has been QUALITY.

The first few seasons of 24 are amazing, but they get ridiculous at the end...this current season sucks.

Caprica is the BSG spinoff and it's pretty entertaining so far.

Weird zany sci-fi= Doctor Who and its spinoff Torchwood. They're strange but I love them a lot(seriously...a LOT).

Castle(weekly detective comedy serial) is perfectly average but it's an hour of entertainment that goes by quickly and easily.

I highly recommend the first 4(maybe 5) seasons of "Scrubs". It was one of my favorite TV shows but it's gone downhill since then. You can marathon it like crazy.

Burn Notice on USA is another fun show. Not heavy, doesn't really make you think, but if you like spy/action stuff it's a lot of fun.

Twin Peaks. Never gets old. I might get too weird in the later episodes, but the 1st season and the first half of the 2nd season are golden.

I'm a huge TV DVD guy! I'm not really into movies but I love a good TV show!

Favorite talk show-type shows:
Realtime with Bill Maher
The Daily Show
Tosh.0
Dateline NBC

Favorite old shows:

The Sopranos
Carnivale
Arrested Development
The Wire
Boston Legal

Favorite current shows:

True Blood
Weeds
Entourage
Dexter
It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Mad Men
Burn Notice
Damages
White Collar
The Office
Modern Family
Party Down

I'm only like 1 season into about half of these shows though.

Big Bang Theory.

Jericho both seasons (they did really well to salvage the 2nd series as it was originally cancelled until Jericho fans sent tonnes of nuts to the studio via mail - you understand once you have watched the first series).

Flash Forward, 2nd series is about to start here in Oz, but I really liked the 1st series.

Life On Mars (U.S.), unfortunately only one series, but pretty good all the same. You may wanna give the U.K. series (2 seasons) a crack, I didn't mind the first few episodes but the wife refused to watch it so I never really gave it too much time.

That was my favorite show about 5 years ago. The seasons since then aren't great. I still DVR the current episdoes but sometimes I struggle to even watch a whole episode.

24
It's on its last season so I'm not sure if it's exactly the right time to pick up.
Still you should watch season 7 of 24. Really addictive and the suspense can keep you going for a long time.

Castle
Exactly what you expect it to be. Lots of flirting and funny lines.

Two and A Half Men
Some of their lines are hilarious.

Top Gear
Good segments and good on-screen chemistry. Occassion funny moments.
Phoenix Suns
San Francisco 49ers
UCLA Bruins
