Top 5 teams for 2011

Post#1 » by thegianttank » Wed Apr 7, 2010 4:37 pm

I guess its never to early to make you predictions for next year.. I was reading an article about it and thought it would be a good discussion to have here. Heres the article: http://blogs.msg.com/gameon/2010/04/06/ ... -for-2011/

I don't fully agree with it tho I'm going to say that its going to be Villanova, Butler , Georgetown , Michigan State and Duke but not in that particular order. What do you guys think?

Depending on which bigs come back to UNC, I think their going to have a big season with Barnes and co.

1. Duke
2. Georgetown (assuming Monroe stays)
3. Purdue
4. Butler
5. North Carolina/Baylor (assuming Udoh stays)

2011's going to be a HUGE year for college basketball..These top kids coming in are total team players. I can't wait

1. Duke (Irving and Curry is going to be a specail backcourt)
2.UNC (Barnes will be the best player in college basketball and Marshall can really pass)
3. Ohio State (Sullinger is a bigger Adrian Dantley)
4. Kentucky (all depends if they land Brandon Knight..Kanter's a beast)
5. Purdue
6. Baylor (the most talented player in the nation is Perry Jones)
6.

1. Duke
2. Michigan St.
3. Purdue
4. Syracuse
5. Ohio St.

Udoh, Hayward, Monroe all have declared and UNC is still weak at G.

I don't see how Syracus is a top 5 (or top 10) team with the losses of Onuaku, Wes Johnson, and Rautins. I like a couple of the kids they have coming in (Waiters and Melo), but they're going to have a hard time replacing arguably their 3 best players.

1) Duke (2 Sr. AA candidates to go with the best Fr. PG in the nation and some talented bigs)
2) MSU (Pretty balanced, ultimately their season will hinge on Lucas and Roe fully recovering)
3) Purdue (I assume both guys will be back, which gives them a big 3 as good as anyone)
4) Kansas St. (The loss of Clemente hurts, but Pullen and Kelly is a great duo)
5) Villanova (I expect big improvement from Sophomores Wayns, Yarou, and Cheek)

Next 5 in no particular order:
-Kansas (A lot of talent up and down the roster, but could use a true wing and the development of their only true C on the roster in Withey is very important)
-Kentucky (As long as they land one of the two remaining PF's on their board (Terrence Jones or CJ Leslie), they should be extremely talented again but also extremely young.
-Ohio St. (PG will remain a question mark for them, but otherwise they look very solid 2-5)
-UNC (Barnes should make a big impact, Henson should take a nice step forward)
-Florida (They return everyone from a decent team, I expect Boynton to take a big step forward)
