Re: WT: Hechavarria's Visa Approved
So while fans and media wondered exactly what happened to Hechavarria in the weeks since he agreed to join the Jays, Hernandez says the wait for a visa was relatively stress-free.
“It’s not a delay. It’s just a normal process,” he said. “It normally takes about two weeks and that’s just how long it’s been taking.”

Re: WT: Hechavarria's Visa Approved
I'm assuming he'll start in the minors, but has anyone heard anything about a timeline for him making the big club? Not from the Jays obviously, but even a well educated blogger guess would be fine by me (none of the usual blog suspects has had anything to say on the matter that I recall though).

I'm not all that knowledgeable personally but from what i read from different sources he's probably gonna be starting in AA New Hampshire. The other Cuban shortstop in this FA class Igleasis(sp?) who signed with the Red Sux is supposed to be on a similar level as a prospect and Sux assigned him to AA Portland. That will also avoid a log jam in the middle infield at A+ Dunedin because our other two SS prospects Jackson and Pastornicky playing there are not ready to be promoted to open up a spot. After that, his ETA to the big leagues will depend on how advanced his bat is because there is very very little information out there on his ability at the plate
