Game 4 Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Lakers 04/24/10

Post#1 » by slick_watts » Sat Apr 24, 2010 5:53 pm

Well, we won a game. By now we know what works and what does not work.

That's why I am hoping that Scott Brooks adjusts the starting lineup and puts in either Nick Collison or Serge Ibaka for Jeff Green. Jeff Green cannot guard Pau Gasol. I know, I know he was responsible for some of our early offense last game, but he gives up too much length (over half a foot) to Pau and our defense just really struggles.

My plan would be to bring in Jeff Green when Bynum is out and when Gasol is at center. He can guard Odom. Or when Durant is getting a rest and he can play SF.

I doubt it will happen. But we can't afford to get off to another poor start..

Agreed. I dont see the Thunder coming back again from a 12 point deficit. Need to come out stong at the start and a lineup change would help. However, Isee the main problem more with Krstic than with Green.

Come on Slick you know Brooks isn't going to bring in Green off the bench.

As much as it makes sence they have made it this far with how things have been things aren't going to get switched up now.

However I do want to restate that this game is absolutely HUGE if the Thunder want any shot at all at making it past the first round.

The realist in me thinks that if OKC wins game 4 the series will go to 7 games.

The homer in me thinks if OKC wins this game they will win the series.

I know we give up size but we definately have positive match ups in our favor on the floor.

I'm really looking forward to tonights game.

I'm also still waiting for Durantula to errupt, you know he is going to go for 40 at some point.

Would be nice to dictate the tempo in this game, run a lot and take the lead early. Let the Lakers chase us for a change. A good shooting night would also be nice.

Let's go Thunder, let's tie it up at 2 a piece!!

I think the Thunder should be up 2-1 in this series so they don't need to change much. All the have to do is start out fast to keep the fans into the game and make shots. It's really that simple. No reason to shake up the starting line-up because LA they start off the game looking for the post guys but at the end of the day they go away from Gasol and focus more on Kobe. I would love to see Durant on Kobe a little more too. Westbrook is the key to the Thunder winning this game and the series, LA have no anwser for him.

Either Thabo or Durant should be on Kobe 100% of the time.

And I'd like to see Ibaka start.

Let's GO!!

-quit the slow starts, we can't get into the habit of coming from behind
-need to make it harder on Pau
-plz sub in Etan to set a screen and level derek fisher (that big lip mofo irks me to no end)

I'm thinking we got in 7 now..there are going to be phantom calls and it's gonna get testy

Very good start, but still its 13-12.
Don't want to be negative, but it hurtswatching Nenad Krstic play on both ends. Bring in Ibaka or Collison ASAP, please.

Russy and the Durantula playing extremely well, and rookie James Harden has been a huge boost off the bench. I like what I'm seeing.

Jeff Green is 2-11 from the field (many wide open looks) and I lost count of how many points he's given up to the Lakers on the mismatches.

Russell Westbrook is playing great, Durant great, Ibaka / Harden / Collison great. This would be a 20 point lead if not for Scott Brooks' insistence to play Jeff Green big minutes at PF against this team, especially with Bynum and Gasol in the game together.

If he keeps Jeff Green out, rotates Ibaka / Collison / Krstic in the front court and Green only in when Odom is at PF, we'll win. If not, the Lakers have the capability to go on a huge run here because they figured out the huge advantage they have on Green...

How about Westbrook though! 16 points on 6 shot attempts and zero turnovers.. and Harden / Ibaka. Really like the effort and play from all our guys except Green, who is just sadly completely overmatched.

Hopefully we don't fold down the stretch.

JGreen and Krstic are both hurting the team against this Lakers team.
Otherwise, really good effort. We really should be up with like 20...however, I can't see the Thunder losing this one if they keep up their energy level. Durant needs to score a little more in the 2nd half though.

I say a lot about Green but the effort from everyone has been tremendous almost the whole series...

Green's a good player but he's in a bad matchup. He still makes some great plays here and there. I actually feel bad he has to go up against guys so much bigger than him.

Russ has been incredible.

leading 91-70, still shooting worse from the field than the Lakers, haha

LAL: 41.2%
OKC 40.3%

Huge advance on the board and defensive end overall makes up for it. And of course te Free Throws.
