Whats Granger worth (trade idea)?
Hey, not sure if this is the right place to post trade idea but i wanted to get some feedback from Pacer fans specifically. I'm a Net fan.
So how untouchable is Granger?
Harris+Lopez for Granger+Hibbert?

Re: Whats Granger worth (trade idea)?
Why make a talentwise lateral moves that only serve to alienate fans and mess with team chemistry?
I'd say it's even talent-wise, but it doesn't make sense for either team.

Not sure what you base that on.
Maybe you have a low opinion of Brook because for some reason he struggled in his match-ups vs the Pacers. But he is regarded pretty high around the league.
I think it makes sense for the Pacers. You give up your best player but you upgrade 2 positions and get a franchise center.
It makes total sense for the Nets assuming they get the #1 pick. They can upgrade the PF spot in FA, but SF wise i think Granger is better then JJ or Gay and Lebron is not going anywhere. I would sacrifice Brook for Granger (most Nets fans think Brook is untouchable).
Plus what chemistry are you messing with? Both teams suck.

Re: Whats Granger worth (trade idea)?
Brook Lopez is the heart and soul of the Nets. The main issue I have with this trade is that it's a completely lateral move for both teams. Honestly, if I'm Larry Bird I would pull the trigger but Kiki should have much more reservation about it.

Re: Whats Granger worth (trade idea)?
Since we're out of the trade thread (which I hate, I can never find my way around...)
Murphy, Hansbrough and Rush for BOSH
Young talent + expiring money for a guy that, when combined with Granger and Hibbert would make a very solid frontcourt.
Jones and Dunleavy share the 2 guard, and the Pacers are a PG away from title competition...
Would Bosh play in Indiana?

Bosh is a free agent therefore whatever team signs him is probably going to hang on to him. They probably loaded up on expirings the previous season just to get Bosh, and the last thing they want to do is do it again for a lesser player.

Re: Whats Granger worth (trade idea)?
Why do you think upgrading 2 positions is a lateral move?
On the Nets end they get a legit all-star SF scorer/shooter on the perimeter and would go great with the playmakers they have. Upgrade the SF and loose a 20/10 center. Hhmmm, I still like the deal, but i might want a pacer pick in there as well maybe.

Re: Whats Granger worth (trade idea)?
Brook is better than Roy, but not that much better for us to be inclined to swap Granger for Harris.
Regardless, Granger can't be touched, again, because of the way he closed out the season. He returned from his injury, back into all-star form( Elite Scorer).
However, you keep your center and we'll keep ours; and if you're fortunate enough to land the #1, we'll give you the #10/Rush/and Foster for Harris.

Re: Whats Granger worth (trade idea)?
if Granger isn't untouchable, then Hibbert is. conversely, if Hibbert isn't untouchable, Granger is. we can decide to build around one and move the other, but moving both makes sense because it would be an admission that we have to start completely over.

Re: Whats Granger worth (trade idea)?
I call it a lateral move because in terms of overall franchise impact, it gets both teams nowhere. Nets fans don't buy tickets to see a revolving door of all-stars before the team moves and Pacer fans don't buy tickets to see different players every year. What our fans need is some consistency to build on, and getting Lopez and Harris in here might inject the team with some excitement, but it'd be more adjustment for the coaching staff and more change for the guys in the locker room.
By the way, significantly upgrading one position, completely wiping out another, and slightly upgrading another position is a lateral move.

Re: Whats Granger worth (trade idea)?
I don't think Indiana will be trading Granger any time soon because his value to us is very high, not as high as other teams may see him. Let's face it, he's the only star on the team and unless Tyler Hansbrough develops into a David Lee or Roy Hibbert continues to grow, he will remain the only star. I think the Pacers plan is to get one or two players in this draft, i truly believe they may pull some strings to get a second first round pick. Pick someone at #10 and hope for Eric Bledsoe later on. In 2011, i think they will try to pull off a Celtics type trade from a few years ago, where they package the 1st round pick, expiring and a younger player for a proven veteran. Celtics got Ray Allen that route.
Indiana will have money to spend but i don't think they will add salary via the free agent market, they will try to land a need via a trade. Hansbrough will be in his 3rd season, Hibbert should be in his prime, Granger will be very hungry and both our rookies from this upcoming draft will be in their second seasons and ready to make a strong contribution.
Just my theory though.

Re: Whats Granger worth (trade idea)?
I'd say Granger (in terms of value) is probably worth the #3 pick in the draft. Problem is, we wouldn't trade him for it so it's a moot point.

I did the math.
Should have mentioned, Bosh would be a sign and trade and I'm assuming 30% of total cap. Toronto is likely going to S+T Bosh from all of the talk. Bosh is willing to tell Toronto which teams have interest and which teams interest him so that TOR can work for a trade. TOR wants something in return, Bosh wants the guaranteed 6th year.

Bosh will not go for Murph/Rush/Hansbrough. We'll have to add picks and Dunleavy for Calderon's long contract, also, to sweeten the deal (depends on how high they are on Calderon these days). Toronto would be better off just keeping him.

Of course, but I'm saying that Toronto still might have reservations at that point if they resign Bosh to the max. Bosh will get signed to the max no matter what team he's going to, that's just my opinion.

Re: Whats Granger worth (trade idea)?
We couldn't give Bosh more than Danny, so if the salary is similar, then I'm in.
The fact is someone will overpay for Bosh, just like we did with JO. Hopefully it's not us.

Re: Whats Granger worth (trade idea)?
granger & hibbert for harris & lopez? .. no b/c i don't see harris as a legit pg. he's a 2 to me. (he's not a GREAT passer and he doesn't make other players better and he can't play D)
granger is worth...
rondo, bargnani&calderon, b.jennings, G.wallace, jrSmith&tyLawson, artest&odom, m.ellis, L.Aldrich, rudy gay, and kevin martin.
if we got any of these offers.. i would HIGHLY consider.. b.jennings or jrSmith&tyLawson, for granger...
no other player would make sense or would be beneficiary for the pacers.
IMO

I'd take Harris and Brook Lopez over any of these "packages".
