Dontrelle Willis

Post#1 » by Liqourish » Fri Apr 30, 2010 1:18 pm

Okay, I know I haven't been around to post, but I have been watching games and have been quite impressed with Willis so far. He's not an All-Star, I'm not predicting big things for him. But he's looked very good at times (and shakey at other times).

I don't even think it's a physical thing with him. I think it's all in his mindset. If he gets out to a good lead and knows he can get some strikes in there. He does well. It's when he starts to overthink that he starts slipping some pitches.

Based soley on him alone.... I think Dontrelle has looked okay, and is alot further along than I expected. I think if Verlander and Porcello were pitching better... people would see Dontrelle as the good #4 that he is right now.

Still not sold. Call me a pessimist or what have you but i anticipate some bad outings coming his way. I hope he proves me wrong

Whenever he pitches, I always feel that "lucky" vibe when he gets outs. He still gives up a lot of hits and walks, he gets a lot of miracle outs the way I see it. Not saying he's terrible or anything, but to whenever he looks 'good' it feels like just a smokescreen.
