Realistic improvement to the Hawks

Post#1 » by geeman » Sat May 15, 2010 8:19 pm

1 New Coach
2 Resign Joe Johnson
3 Trade any combination of Marvin or S&T J Childress, Bibby, Teague first pick for real PG (Devin Harris)
4 Add more size and toughness to frontline ( DJ Mbenga)

I really think if you don't have a superstar (and we don't) you have to have a good PG.

Mbenga is not the answer to our inside problems.

Problems inside consisted of lack of size and Woodson's poor lineups/rotations.

In all honesty, I really think this is probably going to be our coarse of action. It's not a popular choice, but it does make a lot of sense. To have Harris here with JJ and Crawford (and don't forget Teague who could be better with a new coach) would give us a very solid backcourt to rival any. With a coach that will install a good offensive scheme, we could be an extremely dangerous team.

Definitely need another solid big though. I don't know if Joe Smith, Jason Collins, and Randolph Morris could have been used better (or maybe just used at all), but we absolutely have to have enough post defense to take on the better bigs like Dwight.
