A pair of positive Wolves notes in the Strib

Post#1 » by TrentTuckerForever » Thu May 27, 2010 3:46 pm

• Kahn and Wolves coach Kurt Rambis left Wednesday night for Europe, where they will watch guard Ricky Rubio and center Nikola Pekovic play twice apiece next week. They also will visit free agent Darko Milicic, who has said he hopes to re-sign with the Wolves next season.

• Al Jefferson is working out at Target Center this week. "He knows how important this offseason is for his career," Kahn said of the team's leading scorer. "He has to, in certain ways, almost transform his body to get a lot stronger. I'm excited he's here."

Interesting, considering there is a good chance at least one of Milicic, Pekovic and Jefferson will be elsewhere when camp opens.

Maybe they're thinking a position change again. Does stronger=more minutes at center? Or did he lose muscle mass after the surgery?

maybe he means stronger from an endurance standpoint, or maybe he means put on muscle, but not muscle at a 2 to 1 fat to muscle ratio

Yeah you can get stronger without adding on boatloads of weight...I think they are just aiming for a more chiseled, agile Al. So that he is strong enough to bang with the bigs and quick enough to roll with the 4's. Last season they just tried to get him light and seemingly put strength aside for the sake of make it easier on his knee.

Yea, I mean, sometimes when you lose some weight you lose a lot of strength. They probably are trying to get him more chiseled and probably trying to strengthen those legs. A ripped Al Jefferson could be kind of freaky looking although I don't know if he has the genetics to put on a ton of muscle.

Yeah they're probably talking about core strength or something
