We're Sick of Waiting - The Bobcats HC Search Thread

Post#1 » by DY_nasty » Fri May 28, 2010 9:32 pm

For the sake of discussion, lets just say that LB has left this team to go coach Marbury in China. Who should we bring in to take this team to next level?

My favorite for the position, Dwayne Casey (former Timberwolves HC, and current Mavs Asst. Coach), has recently been interviewed by Atlanta and is most likely their top candidate to replace Mike Woodson.

Paul Silas, JVG, and Sam Mitchell are the rest of my Top 4 realistic guys.

i think JVG is still tops on my list.

after that i would maybe look at dave cowens or anyone else with a sense of offense, youth, and player development.

Dave Cowens, no question. The Hornets had some of their best years under him. Cowens or Silas, they both know the Charlotte area and have had success in the market.

i always preferred cowens to silas. silas, just always seemed to have some trust issues. plus cowens is a bit of a nutjob, so he makes for good entertainment.

I'm beginning to rethink my stance on Byron Scott. Even though what happened to him in the playoffs last year was humiliating in every sense, I think he has potential to be a good HC. My main issue with him was how many players seem to have deep dislike for him (other than Chris Paul of course).

I've had the same opinions about Silas to be honest, however the time off may have done the guy some good. I'm sure the Cleveland experience left a bad taste in his mouth. However, a Paul Silas homecoming in Charlotte would be get people exciting if nothing else.

I think Silas is so long ago and so far removed from the game now....I'd just like to not explore the past again with him...or with Cowens (although I really liked Dave a lot).

I do want a proven coach...a guy who's demonstrated he can relate to the players and do the X's & O's well. Player development is a MUST.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Ideally, JVG would be great.

I dont think its very realistic though as it would take an ungodly contract offer to lure him away from his cushy and lucrative analyst job.

Realistically, they could do alot worse than Dave Cowans.

Dave Cowens would be great. My sleeper pick: Sidney Lowe, a former NBA assistant coach and current coach at NC State.

For me it's either JVG, Paul Silas, or Elston Turner.

She has a husband dude and she is a very respectable woman, don't ever say that again. If you do it's your choice not mine. You decide what's too far in a joke.

Oh come on.... You make it sound like I started petitioning to get her to star in a BET uncut music video. If you're going to white knight for her, be sure to do it for JVG and Smitch too. I'm sure their spouses are quite offended by the Bobcats' RealGM forum as well.
