Linceum. I love the guy, but he's only been with the team for 3+ years now, and even though he's won 2 CYs, what have we got from it? We already took off a player who won a MVP for us (Mitchell) and two of the greatest closers in Giants history, one of which ruined his career just to (almost) win us a World Series..

Can we even say that he's the greatest pitcher in Giants history? Or in the top 5?

2 Cy Youngs and only 25 years old? Uh yeah, he's top 5. Maybe not greatest of Giants pitchers yet, but I really do think he will be.
Nen probably shouldn't have been voted off so early.

I agree that he'll probably end up being a top 5-10 Giant of all time when his career is done, but as of right now, he shouldn't make the top 10. Like I said, he's only been with the team for 3+ years. I could even argue that Kirk Rueter is a "greater" Giant than Timmy is rightn ow.

Timmy will leave a greater impact when it's all said and done, and more baseball fans will recognize him as a Giant 10-15 years from now than they would of Kent or Rueter if Lincecum left the team after this season is over.

Yeah, more casual fans will recognize him, but as a Giants fan, you already think that he's done more for this franchise than Kirk Reuter or any other Giants pitcher has ever done?

Timmy was the best pitcher in the league for two straight years, how many other players can say that? No, he hasn't done anything for the team in the post season, since he's only been here three years. Woody was a very good pitcher on some great teams that made runs in the playoffs, but you're kidding me if you think he's a better player than Lincecum. He hasn't done more in terms of getting a championship, but he's already left a longer lasting legacy over the whole sport of baseball.

I just think it's a little premature that we talking about Timmy being a top 10 Giant of all time already. If he never played another game as a Giant, you would really list him as a top 10 Giant? Really?

And I'm not saying Woody is a better player than Timmy, but as far as the "Greatest SF Giant" goes...Woody has more impact on the Giants than Timmy has, so far. No?

Well I'm thinking of the best players who played in a Giants uniform for this list, not who has done the most for the franchise.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong then.

I guess it could be seen either way...but wasn't Mitchell taken off earlier because he was a Giant for such a short time?

Kent is easily the least deserving. Yes, he was here in the prime of his career but he was a jerkoff and he played for the DODGERS. Bonds was always a bigger part of those teams than Kent, so he was allowed to be a dick.

I see what you're saying. If he hadn't had the MVP and helped lead our team to the WS, he wouldn't even be on this list, IMO.
