Re: ESPN's Free Agent Slots
On the 13th try we landed Boozer and Lebron.
Most of the time we nabbed Amare or David Lee.
I'm gonna go with the notion that since we got Lebron on the unlucky 13th try, that means we'll be lucky in reality lol.
I got in a huge argument with my uncle (Homer Knicks fan) about where Lebron is going. We basically made a bet that if he comes to the New York area (I kept saying he won't, but for argument sake) he'd come to the Nets. I would have given him credit, but his whole damn argument was playing in the Garden and "Why would Lebron play for the Nets? All his best friends are Yankees." These are words thought of as facts to Knick fans apparantly. I gotta stop arguing with those fans just like I do with any Philly fan who doesn't know the teams prior to AI, Donovan and Ryan Howard.

I spun that thing about 25 times, not exaggerating. Out of the 25 we ended up with Boozer ONCE, and David Lee twice. In the meantime NYKs ended up with Lebron AND Wade 4 TIMES. Also Heat ended up with Lebron, Wade AND Bosh twice.
Waste of time btw.
Waste of time btw.

Re: ESPN's Free Agent Slots
On the third spin we got Lebron and wade! 5,6,7 spins we got nothing! the 8th spin ended up with us getting lebron and Amare!
Interesting to note that 6 out of 8 spins had dirk and Boozer staying put!
What does all that mean? Well F#%*ed if i know! lol

Re: ESPN's Free Agent Slots
Not once have I seen Dirk on another team. By the way - I'm a big time Magic fan living in Jersey. Nets are my next favorite team... had season tickets last year and renewed them again this year. Hoping for the best!

Yeah, I feel like Dirk is a bigger flight risk than ANYONE in the league is talking about right now. Maybe not even a 25% chance, but if MIA nets Wade and Stoudemire, Nowitzki and Beasley could work really nicely as the combo forwards. I also think that WE could be a dark-horse team for him; playing in between LeBron (IF we get him) and Lopez would allow his best attributes to shine, and he'd already have a relationship with Devin and Avery (I'm assuming we'll hire Johnson).
Anyway, good to hear from you, js. Don't be a stranger.

Re: ESPN's Free Agent Slots
We just got Avery.
So, I rolled the slots.
This came out:
Lebron - Bulls
Dirk - Mavs
Wade - Heat
Joe Johnson - Nets
Bosh - Nets
Boozer - Bulls
Stoudemire - Heat
Lee - Knicks
I can easily see this happening. Avery is a nice coach to have. He is young, highly motivated, can relate the the players, and is an excellent basketball mind. He's also very affable and pleasant. He gives a great interview and is very passionate. He can help motivate our team and stay focused. Plus, he can help recruit some free agents for us.
I can see Joe Johnson signing with the Nets first for less than the max (say 10 mill a year for 5) and then Wade re-signs with the Heat and brings Amare with him the same day. Then, Lebron signs with the Bulls or Cavs (maybe for 3 years or with an early opt out before the max deal runs). If he signs with the Cavs they will need another big guy like a Boozer/Amare/Bosh. But, if he goes to the Bulls I can see Boozer somehow getting there if Utah organizes a S & T with Chicago somehow (not sure how it would work). Bosh will then have realized he won't be able to play with Lebron or Wade without taking a major pay cut and will decide to sign with the Nets for the max and grow with a very promising team in the East. Lee stays with the Knicks and I can see the Knicks overpaying for Rudy Gay as well (max - that the Grizz won't match).
Nets lineup 2010
PG - Harris
SG - Joe Johnson
SF - Terrence Williams
PF - Bosh
C - Lopez
6th - Favors
7th - CDR
That's a playoff team. The Magic, Bulls, Heat, Celts and possibly the Knicks would be up there as well...
If this all occurs I can see these rankings:
1. Bulls
2. Heat
3. Nets
4. Magic
5. Celtics (last run)
6. Knicks
7. Sixers
8. Pacers/Pistons/Bucks/Bobcats
