Heat willing to sell 18th pick

Post#1 » by PetrieUnderstudy » Tue Jun 22, 2010 8:09 pm

Apparently the Heat are willing to sell the 18th pick. Would we be a team willing to buy it? We could probably get ourselves another nice piece. Based off nbddraft.net mock draft we could land Xavier Henry, Avery Bradley, Hassan Whiteside, amongst others. I'm all for inquiring the Heat how much it would cost.

I think if Sacramento has some guys in mind that look to go mid round, I think it's definitely worth doing. Maybe Ed Davis.

Tbh They've had whiteside over for 2 work outs - if the kings were impressed with him - and thought that the money they'd have to spend for the 18th pick was worth the talent they'd get if he dropped down that far - then maybe.. but that's a huge IF...

It would be nice to see though - no doubt :)

From what I have read the Heat are trying to clear capspace with the pick. I have seen a few things on Espn and other rumor sites saying they are trying to move Beasley and the pick for capspace.

Hmmm be pretty cool if Cousin and Favors are gone to grab Johnson at 5 then do the miami deal for Beasley and Whiteside or Henry at 18.

Man, I love draft time!

I would love to have another 1st round draft pick, 18th pick? that's where petrie is the best..
and in this draft we would be getting a really talented player non the less!!

This is a very strong Draft, so I would love to have another pick... and if we had 3 picks this year?!
we would become a way better team next year.. and could shoot-up quickly and unexpectedly like the thunder did last year!! (That would be Hawesome!!)

Do it!!!

#5: Cousins
#18: Bledsoe
#33: Crawford

Beno/Bledsoe
Evans/Garcia/Crawford
Greene/Casspi
Landry/JT/Brockman
Cousins/Dalembert

I like that line up....Still have a ton of cap to play with.

Man, that is a tough team..Swagger................

they didn't say they were looking for cash for the pick it was said they wanted capspace for the pick that means somebody is going to have to eat a couple small contracts.

I would be fine doing that as long as white side or Larry sanders is available at the 18th pick.

My dream would be to get that pick and make these picks.

5Th-Cousins
18th-Whiteside
33rd- Dominique Jones

That would be awesome.

Let Dalembert expire, and then spend some cash on landry, and run with that lineup for 5 years.

Udrih/Jones
Evans/Garcia
Casspi/Greene
Landry/Thompson/Brockman
Cousins/Whiteside

that team is absolutely sick

I'd like to see us take a gamble on Michael Beasley. Low risk, high reward. It's been discussed on here before.

Kings trade: Future 2nd round pick
Heat trade: #18 & Michael Beasley

We draft:
#5 Demarcus Cousins
#18 Eric Bledsoe
#33 Mikhail Torrance

Beno Udrih/Eric Bledsoe
Tyreke Evans/Francisco Garcia/Mikhail Torrance
Omri Casspi/Donte Greene
Carl Landry/Jason Thompson/Michael Beasley/Jon Brockman
Samuel Dalembert/Demarcus Cousins

Maybe not though because by selling the pick they get out of the guaranteed money that pick would carry along with it.

Cap Hold for that pick is only 1mil. They are going to want to get rid of Jones as well. If we take on Jones and cut him from the roster, he will represent a 2 mil cap hold for the next 3 seasons. I think the price is worth it and we are one of the few franchises that could do that with no regrets. I don't think we are looking to sign any major free agents any time soon, were trying to take on short term salary for extra incentives, I think our goal with our capspace is to preserve it until we start resigning and extending players or make a major consolidation move. If there is someone at 18 we really like I don't see why taking on jones would be a major problem.

Go figure who gets the 18th pick & Cook? The team we're chasing...the Oklahoma City Thunder. Sam Presti pulls the trigger. Where were you Geoff? They are already ahead of us and making moves to better their team even more.

None, we're over the cap RIGHT NOW. Come July 1st I believe we'll be around 17 million or so under the cap after the cap holds go into affect.

Return to Sacramento Kings
