Draft Pick Signings Thread

I figure we can throw most of these announcements into one thread instead of having individual ones for each guy.

Newhouse, Starks, and Wilson, the 5th, 6th, and 7th rounders, are the first three to officially agree to terms. No contract details yet.

Some other interesting notes in that blog as well.

Morgan Burnett's agent said he expects him to be signed by the Weekend which would only leave Neal and Bulaga as unsigned.

Crazy how only one player not in the 1st round but also in the second has signed. It'll be interesting to see how long this drags on.

Looks like Mike Neal is getting pretty close to being signed:

Bulaga asked him in regards to his contract:

BBulaga
@mneal96 did urs get done?

And in response:

mneal96
@BBulaga let u know in about two hours direct message me you pin number for your bbm

Sure sounds to me like he is expecting to be signed by the end of the day.

Mike Neal indeed has agreed to terms with the Packers, just as chuckles suspected might happen today.

Only Bulaga remains unsigned, and with Dez Bryant already locked up, that should help provide the Packers with some kind of framework to negotiate around.

We had the max roster of 80 players before Neal & Bigby signed. Anyone know who the team cut to make room for them?

I would guess one of the first likely moves is Al Harris to the PUP list, not sure if anyone else could be a candidate for that as well.

You could preemptively add Harrell and save yourself the trouble later.

The Green Bay signed first-round draft pick Bryan Bulaga to a five-year contract on Friday worth $14.75 million, a league source tells ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The deal carries $8.76 million in guaranteed money for Bulaga, an offensive tackle out of Iowa who was the 23rd overall pick in April's draft.

Why drafting at the top sucks.

Eric Berry's deal: 6 years, $60 million max, including $34 million gtd.

Highest ever for a safety. For that amount of cash he absolutely needs to be Ed Reed in his prime.

I really, really like Eric Berry. But that is insane.

He (like you said) needs to be Reed or Polamolu level for it to even be close to worth it.

Weren't scouts saying he had the ability to play some corner too?

I think he could against some WRs. That's the position he played as a Freshman at UT where he had five picks.

I'm gonna be curious to see what Earl Thomas signs for and how Seattle plans to use him. I could easily see him having a bigger impact than Berry.
