What should be the line-up next year?

Post#1 » by Crossova21 » Fri Jun 25, 2010 4:56 am

As of right now we still have Ford and Murph but because I don't think Ford is capable of running the team and I simply don't like Murph I'm going to leave them out of this line-up.

PG: ???/ Price
SG: Rush/ Stephenson/ Dunleavy
SF: George/ Jones
PF: Granger/ Hansbrough/ McRoberts
C: Hibbert/ Foster/ Jones/ Rolle(?)

Wish there was a way to send Ford, Murph, and possible Rush for a starting point. Still wonder if NO would be willing to trade Collison. I like Granger at PF in some instances but not necessarily against players like Gasol, Garnett, and Duncan. I think if we trade Rush or let him or George come off the bench Hansbrough can play PF. Now that I think about it any trade that involves Murph would have to bring back a veteran big man to replace him till Hansbrough's ready.

Hansbrough will never be ready thats why pacers are gonna be in the lottery next two or three years until bird and obrien are fired.

C Hibbert/Foster
PF Murphy/Hans/ McBob
SF Granger/ George/ Jones
SG Dunleavy/ Rush/Stephenson
PG

Looking at the depth chart tells me that there will certainly be movement before the season. Too many wings.

We have to get a point guard, Ford can't take on 40 minutes for 3 or 4 months.
I hope it isn't Watson he is slower than Derek Fisher and at times he takes worse shots than TJ. Like other recent Pacers point guards he is a Turnover machine. He will probly end up on the Lakers anyways, but I hope Pacers don't resign Watson.

I'd give Watson's paycheck to Livingston. Shaun is ready to be an everynight performer.

I like Livingston, I hope Bird gives Mikhail Torrance a shot because I think he would be the best PG on the Pacers right now. No Farmar, He is a bum. I hope no one mentions his name on here after I just did. One time is more than enough.
Line-up Should Be...

PG Ford/Price(Hurt)
SG Dahntay/Rush/George/Stephenson
SF Ganger/George gets minutes here too/Stephenson same as George/ 0 minutes for Dunleavy
PF Murphy/Hanbrough or McRoberts/Rolle
C Hibbert/Foster, O'brien likes playin him too much/Jones

I don't want to see Dunleavy or Murphy start honestly. Might as well let these young guys start to mesh. Hell, leg George start at SG. Who cares?

I think we are going to be looking at:

Felton/Price/3rd string pg we pick up who will get some run til Price is healthy
George/Jones/Stephenson
Granger/Dunleavy
Murphy/Psycho/McBob
Hibbert/Foster/Solo

PG - Whoever we trade for
SG - Paul George (he better be good enough or this was not a good pick)
SF - Danny Granger (he's a 3, not a 4)
PF - Troy Murphy (if he's traded, then whoever we trade for... or Hanbrough if by some miracle he's actually healthy and actually good - but not holding my breath)
C - Roy Hibbert

Back up PG - Whoever we trade for
Back up wings - a lot to choose from... Rush, Jones, Dunleavy, Stephenson
Back up bigs - Foster, McBob

still some holes to fill... if we bring in an impact PG without giving up Murphy, and if we're healthy, we should be markedly improved. but if we trade Murphy, we need to bring back a legit PF as well, or this is gonna get ugly.

I care. You don't want a guy (Murphy) who puts a double-double every night to start? When did Pacer fans start flushing the season down the toilet in June? Who are we, the Knicks?

If the young guys are going to get better, it isn't going to happen during a game. There's one ball and 9 other players during a game. It'll happen during practice and off-season workouts and in the weight room. There is plenty of playing time for them to get experience coming off the bench. The best players should be the ones getting the most minutes, which is the way Jimmy and Larry will do it anyway.

Pacers last year played better without Murphy than with him.
When he got injured early in season and missed 5 games, the Pacers won all 5. When he came back they started losin.

Murphy can't play D, he can guard bigs because of his size but has no defensive ability. and for all the people who say TJ can't defend he is one of Pacers best defenders. He always stays on his man and comes up with every loose ball. I understand why a lot of people hate him at PG, but don't say he can't defend or shoot, cuz he can hit any jumper from inside the 3. Rip Hamiltons a great shooter, not good from the 3 but from mid he might be the best. I don't like TJ at point but he's nice to bring off the bench when you need scoring. He is overpaid tho.

Ford/Price
Rush/George/Jones
Granger/George/Dunleavy
Murphy/Hansbrough/McRoberts
Hibbert/Foster/McRoberts

There are a lot of guys in the NBA I'd start over Murphy, but on the Pacers I can think of none.

Where's Born Ready?
He is going to be the best player in a couple of years.

Born Ready might actually renew my faith in Cincy because of the Flight White fiasco.

No idea what the lineup will be, I mean some of those wings have to be moved. I'd like to see George split his minutes amongst both the SF and SG spots.

I assume Rush and/or Dunleavy are probably on the block.

I think Rush has been on the block 4 about a year now. Even tho Dunleavy is exiring I think he would be the hardest to move because I think he could be the worst player in the NBA. Him, Mardy Collins or Pecherov.

Dunleavy is no where near the worst player in the league.

Well. I still hold out hope that we can swing a Collison/Okafor for Rush/Murphy deal. Sign cheapo backup PG, get jon scheyer too. Boom:

collison/cheapo/shceyer
Dunleavy/Jones/Born Ready
Granger/George
Okafor/Hans/McBobs
Hibbert/Okafor/Foster/Solo

would be so so so sweet
